Welcome!

Hello Silver Cos., and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. I wanted to welcome you, and also make you aware of Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 05:27, 9 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Since you're editing the Central Park (shopping complex) article and have the username "Silver Cos.", I also wanted to make you aware of Wikipedia policies about companies' representatives writing about those companies. It's not forbidden, but it is discouraged, because it can look like an attempt to use Wikipedia as an advertising service. Also, a representative of that company writing about it can raise issues similar to an individual writing his own biographical entry, which is also discouraged.

However, this does not mean that you shouldn't contribute to Wikipedia, or even that you shouldn't contribute to the article on Central Park. The best thing to do (as suggested here) is to post a comment on the article's talk page, Talk:Central Park (shopping complex); another editor will be along shortly and will incorporate the changes into the article's body. The key thing is that we want the encyclopedia to be as unbiased as possible, which is difficult when people are editing articles about themselves or their employers.

Please note that this is not a specific criticism of your edits to Central Park (shopping complex) — I just wanted to let you know about some Wikipedia policies and guidelines that might affect your future editing. Once again, welcome to Wikipedia! —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 05:41, 9 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Notification of automated file description generation edit

Your upload of File:Centralpark sign.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks!
