Your contributed article, Prince Charmings World

edit

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Prince Charmings World. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Gucci. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Gucci - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Simon-in-sagamihara (talk) 06:09, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Prince Charming's World

Hi there. It looks like you're trying to create an article for your company by stripping down the Gucci one and replacing it with your own content. I've had a look around the net for information about PCW (I was surprised to find that it wasn't a hoax), and just to let you know, the first thing you're going to need is at least one reliable secondary source that proves your company is notable, else it will be speedily-deleted under the category for non-notable companies (or the spam category, depending on what content you add to it.) Regards Simon-in-sagamihara (talk) 06:20, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

how can i, as the owner of the company, provide a more reliable source? do u have any examples of sources? also, is there a way to hide the page until i am 100% complete in my creating/editing of the site?

Reliable sources are ones usually written by third parties that are unaffiliated with the topic. Some good examples are newspaper, journal, and/or magazine articles. Books and other published materials also could be used. We do require that whatever the source is, it has to be considered academically reliable in the facts that they publish. Check out SMS Moltke (1910), today's featured article, to see what sort of references they use. You could start a "sandbox" page of your own at User:Shoppce/Sandbox. Just start the page and off you go. I would recommend that you read a few of the links given in the welcome notice at the top of this page. Killiondude (talk) 07:51, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Hi, Shoppce! I hope this will help answer your questions. I've added several links worth checking out.
  • To establish notability, Wikipedia relies on reliable sources. If you visit WP:CORP, you'll get a feel for what that entails. You can also go to WP:RS for examples of reliable sources. In summary, Wiki looks for significant, non-trivial, third party coverage of the subject. For a corporation, that may be news or magazine articles about the company. Or perhaps the company was discussed on a TV show. These are just examples and are not meant to limit you. A good place to look for reliable sources is Google, particularly the [books.google.com books] and [scholar.google.com scholar] subdomains.
  • In regards to 'hiding' the page, the best method would be to create a sandbox. You do so here. You can refer to So you made a userspace draft for instructions on how to move the page to the namespace (the live portion of Wikipedia) once you are done editing.
