User talk:Shlomke/sandbox

Sorry to edit your page on you, no disrespect intended. Also, sorry for misspelling your name. What happened is when everyone visits the category page Registered Historic Places in New York they see a live link to your sandbox page. My edit removed your page listed under the 'U' links however if you notice you'll see your sandbox page listed under the 'B' links just under the Brooklyn Bridge listing.

I think this may be a design flaw in the Categories process. It looks like the Categories pages are listing pages from the User namespace when they shouldn't. I'll make a comment about this at one of the online discussions but in the mean time everyone of the category links on your sandbox page is showing up on the live category lists.

If you like in the future, and it's up to you, you can copy the articles from just above the Category links and upwards as long as you remember not to paste over the category links when you update the article.

Again, my appologies for taking liberties with your sandbox page, I should have just written you a note here in the first place.

Okay, I entered a Bug on Wikipedia's Bugzilla but it was dismissed almost imediately as being neither a bug nor a design flaw.

I added a comment to one of the Village Pump pages and got some feedback.

I suspect I'm the only person at this point that thinks this is a problem. One User's suggestion was for you to remove the category links on your Sandbox so the page doesn't get cross listed in the Main Articles namespace. The developer is insistent that the 9 live Category pages picking up your Sandbox edits is an intended feature and that you in fact want your User page cross-listed in Main Article namespaces.

I don't have any suggestions and I don't see a clear path to pursue this any further. And I'm starting to regret noticing this problem and I think I'll just stick with editing content and let bakers have the kitchen from now on.

Don't hesitate deleting my comments here, reverting my edit to your Sandbox page, or sending me an email to tell me I'm crazy. I'm sorry I messed around things.

Good luck
