Sam: you did an okay job with the evaluation of an article, but you forgot half the assignment for this week. What happened? You were supposed to write out responses about the content gap in your sandbox page. Alfgarciamora (talk) 21:10, 30 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Shern233: A nice job for this week, Sam! But one thing that I want you to do is see if you can find articles from peer-reviewed journals that you can include in your bibliography list. Although your preliminary sources are good, you will probably run out of stuff to use very quickly. Remember to take a look at the bibliographies of the sources you are using so that you can find more good stuff. Don't stop digging! This is good for now, but you will need more sources for sure. Great job overall, however. Alfgarciamora (talk) 12:58, 21 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank you!! And yes I will look into the different bibliographies of the Italian and French Wikipedia pages that have more information on them. I was looking for peer-reviewed articles through the FIU Libraries but I didn't come across anything; however, I will give it another try and look in other places as well. Peer review

edit

@Shern233: Hey Sam, like I promised I'm going to try to give you some advise with your draft and be your peer reviewer for the day. First off, looking at your Bibliographies they look a bit general. Maybe it's cause your character doesn't have that many specific works written about him, but at any rate, I would try to find some sources that go into detail about him (for more than one or two paragraphs). I don't know if you have checked the spanish and french versions of your character's article Médéric Louis Élie Moreau de Saint-Méry, right? if so try: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%A9d%C3%A9ric_Louis_%C3%89lie_Moreau_de_Saint-M%C3%A9ry, and https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moreau_de_Saint-M%C3%A9ry. Both these articles have his publications and bibliographies (in french tho), which maybe you could use to some extent. Make sure you keep track of your references (i see you have one in the introductory text section where the code seems to be messed up), and try expanding as much as you can. Also, remember that you can always pick another article if you cannot find any good sources about your character. There's some talk in his character about him being a freemason, i would be interested in reading an article about freemasons (or even other secret societies) during the french revolution (there's a small section about that here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Freemasonry_in_France#Revolution which you could either expand or use turn into a new article). Honestly researching is the hardest part of this project, so if you can find a good topic with plenty of sources you'll make your life 1000 times easier. Anyways please let me know if you have any questions or if any of this has been useful to you, good editing --Aocho032 (talk) 00:36, 6 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for reviewing my article Arms. And yes I am constantly looking for more sources too keep adding to my character's page. I want to focus my attention on his page although there is not much information out there because his article is not as extensive as it should be. I am working with the sources I have already in my sandbox because there is a lot of substance to add, I will continue working on my draft this week. Thank you for your insight and please take another look at my draft next week when I add more information to it, I would really appreciate you input. Shern233 (talk)

A good job with the additions, Shern233, but I definitely think that you could add some more substance to the page. Have you had any success with the suggestions that Armando gave you? You are on your way to doing well in this project, but just make sure you stay strong to the end. There must be a few more details that you can add using the sources you have or the sources in the Spanish/French version of the page! Alfgarciamora (talk) 15:29, 20 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
