File source problem with File:Rescue of Israel Putnam near Glens Falls.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Rescue of Israel Putnam near Glens Falls.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:30, 19 October 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 14:30, 19 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

DYK instructions and welcome! edit

Template talk:Did you know is where you go to nominate. Once there look for the appropriate date you created the article or started the expansion of the article. Copy and paste {{subst:NewDYKnom | article= | hook=... that ? | status=new | author=}} for new articles to the TOP of the list at the appropriate date and fill in the article name, the interesting fact for you want to use for the hook, and your user name for author. For expaned articles just change new to expanded in the status field. In the hook make sure the title of the article appears somewher and you bold it. In the article field do not wikilink it, it will automatically do so. But in the hook you do. You also do not wikilink your name in the author field, just put User:Sherazade96 and it will do it for you automatically. Everyone there tends to be very forgiving and understanding and will fix any problems you have.Camelbinky (talk) 23:44, 19 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Saratoga needs some help! edit

Really looking forward to reading your work. I've skimmed through Grand Union Hotel only a little (and made some edits as well). I'll give you a full lesson on uploading images. Every image you uploaded for that article except the last is in the public domain and can be hosted for free without requiring a fair use clause. If any user deletes any of those images in the next two or so days (don't be surprised), don't worry. I'll help you reupload them to Wikimedia Commons, the image hosting sister project of Wikipedia. The photo from the 1950s, however, probably can't be included unless the author gave you permission. Anything published before 1923 is in the public domain. Any photo taken before the 1970s and not "published" (i.e., in a newspaper, book, etc.) is also in the public domain because copyright was never claimed. After that, copyright became implicit. The burden of proof for copyright on a work between 1924 and the 1970s is on the person wanting to use the work, so proving that negative (that it was never published) is extremely difficult and can't practically be done. So long story short, that photo probaly can't be used. But don't make any image changes to the article just yet. I'll get my hands on it tomorrow and do a little work. In the mean time I made a request at the Guild of Copyeditors to go through your two articles. They work well and they work for free. Gotta take advantage of them. Anyway, welcome to the project and if you have any trouble with DYK, let me know. If you break the 5 day time limit, just let them know you're new and they'll probably let you slide. Also, WP:NYCD has almost no representation from Saratoga. I work on Rensselaer County-related articles mostly (I also wrote Albany, New York) and Camelbinky works mainly on Albany and Schenectady articles, so this will round out the project with local experts thankfully. Happy editing! upstateNYer 03:14, 20 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Luther Forest Technology Campus edit

I'm going to be getting together a large number of sources for a rewrite of the Luther Forest article, feel free to use them and/or add any you find, I'll be placing the links to the sources on the article's talk page as a first step towards the rewrite. With all that's going on and how important the campus is for the Capital District and the state I think it is an important article to have "complete".Camelbinky (talk) 17:35, 23 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

File:Opera House Grand Union.jpg missing description details edit

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 08:31, 14 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
