Or, you can just type {{helpme}} and your question on your user talk page, and someone will show up shortly to answer. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Armoured forces. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Armoured forces with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:Armoured forces with a link to the details.

Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement. After you do so, you should place a {{hangon}} tag on the article page and leave a note at Talk:Armoured forces saying you have done so. An administrator will review the new content before taking action.

It is also important that all Wikipedia articles have an encyclopedic tone and follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your original contributions are welcome. —Aetheling 21:57, 27 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please be careful!

edit

I realize that you have only just started to contribute to Wikipedia, and we value your contributions. However, you need to be aware that this encyclopedia has high standards. There were some serious problems with your military contributions, and you can certainly do better. Here are some specific problems that I found:

  • Naval warfare - you deleted a lot of historical material, probably without realizing it.
  • Armoured forces - your contribution reads like material copied from straight from a history book. Don't do that! Wikipedia cannot plagiarize without risking serious legal consequences.
  • War crime - while your point about Germany was accurate, this article is not the place to make it. If you want to write about German war crimes, be very specific about the crimes and address the legal issues as they were established in Nurenberg. A general article on war crimes is not the right place for the point that you made.
  • Ancient warfare - your material on the long bow belongs in an article on the long bow, not here. You placed it in the middle of a series of general sections on tactics and weapon types -- it does not belong there. —Aetheling 21:57, 27 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • Infantry Your material on the Hitler Youth does not belong in the article on Infantry! Move it to the article on Hitler Youth! Better yet, read that Wikipedia article on Hitler Youth first, you might learn something. If you look at the sections of the article on Infantry, you will see why your material is inappropriate. The headings are: History, Organization, Missions, Equipment. How is a section on Hitler Youth parallel to these? Can't you see the problem? I hate to erase yet another of your well-meant contributions, but that is what we have to do. —Aetheling 18:14, 28 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for editing Wikipedia. Unfortunately, many of your recent edits have a strong point of view (see Wikipedia:Neutral point of view for more) and also lack citations (see Wikipedia:Citing sources for more on this). Because of these problems, your edits have been reverted. I strongly suggest you read how to write a great article, which will help you create better content. This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did to User talk:DerHexer, you will be blocked from editing.

Note: I have used this warning due to repeated vandalism of user pages without any kind of warning being given. Consider this a warning for all of those edits.

Hi Shark kid

I'm no admin and so I can't block you. Your edits do show a considerable educational background and I think you do have the potential to become a great writer. The problem is that you don't get along with wikipedia rules. Well, if you intend on editing something, give me a quick note and I will check your material and give you suggestions how you can contribute without getting everything reverted.
