Welcome!

Hello, Sharestrength, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Share Our Strength, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! —  crh 23  (Talk) 20:34, 15 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Sharestrength", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Jack Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a change of username, by completing this form, that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. —  crh 23  (Talk) 20:37, 15 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Reminder of Rules Violation

edit

On 15 July, 2016, this account was notified that a few rules are being broken with this account. Since then, you've continued to use Wikipedia in violation of these rules. As a supporter of Share Our Strength, I wanted to stress to you that these rules violations are not trivial. Please resolve them. You will be blocked from editing Wikipedia and your edits may be reverted if you do not resolve these issues.

First, ensure that this account is for a single user. It cannot be a company account, and it cannot be shared by multiple people. You will probably want to rename the account once you move it to an individual instead of the organization. Second, you must disclose your affiliation with Share Our Strength on the user page. Third, if you want to continue editing the Share Our Strength article, you will need to do so via userspace drafts that other editors can review. You cannot continue to edit Share Our Strength directly due to a conflict of interest, even if the edit would be acceptable coming from a different editor.

Note that I'm not using a template here. I'm writing you directly because I like Share Our Strength, and I want to ensure that employees of the organization understand how to appropriately work within wikipedia guidelines. — Eric Herboso 22:17, 20 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

WARNING

edit

Please stop editing the Share Our Strength page. Even if your edits would be acceptable from another editor, it is not acceptable for these changes to come from you due to your conflict of interest. If you continue to edit the page, I will move forward with reporting you to Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest/Noticeboard. I would rather resolve this without taking that step, as I am a supporter of the organization that you work for. — Eric Herboso 22:30, 27 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username. It also appears that your account is intended to be used for the purpose of telling the world about an organization, person or cause that you consider worthwhile. Unfortunately, many good causes are not sufficiently notable for their own Wikipedia article, and all users are discouraged from editing in any area where they have an inherent conflict of interest. You may wish to consider one of these alternative outlets.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Thank you.
