Shady Panda is the artist known as Janet Peterson, born Dec 16th 1983 in San Diego, CA. Most Popular for her artwork and web designs which can be found throughout numerous websites. Her artistic style is varied from animations to real life but she also has a nack for editing images and dabbles in photography.
Before kindergarten Janet was already drawing images with shadows and no one believed her Mother when she showed people that her young daughter had actually drawn such artwork. By kindergarten she had won her first art award for a Halloween contest, the prize was a first place ribbon and free tickets to her schools Halloween festival. It was a haunted house made out of construction paper.
Janet started learning HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) around the age of 13, this was after she got tired of playing with AOL Easy Designer and wanted to further her web creating abilities. By High School she took an HTML class and passed with flying colors, although she felt Front Page was too easy and would've rather stuck with HTML coding the hard way. Her teacher was so impressed by her skill level she offered her a job to work for a hospital but she ended up working else where.
Janet also took a graphic design class in High School which she passed with ease, they never used computers of any kind in the class, it was all drawing and re-drawing by hand, as if to be perfectionist. She had become such an exceptional artist in High School she was put into a local artists year book, this oppurtunity was only given out to a very select few artists.
Janet had several pieces of her artwork featured in galleries while at Loudoun County High School in Virgina in downtown Leesburg, VA in 2000. She never won any official art competitions after her Elementary days but she always stuck with her art teachers slogan of "mess up, fix up" (if you draw it then don't erase it, just work with it instead of against it).
