Worms 2: Armageddon

Why did you revert my revert? 86.151.35.46's edit was clearly unconstructive. --Vladimir (talk) 08:47, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Oh snap, I read the diff wrong. My bad. --Vladimir (talk) 08:51, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
Well, I didn't realize you were only reverting... although I don't at all agree that 86's edit's was unconstructive. In fact, the previous version seemed much better than what you put it back to. To wit: "our favourite.. ARMAGEDDON! Coming in is even better like emergency teleportor, poison strike and super bunker buster including a hand weapon with poison" replaced a properly capitalized and punctuated (and spelled) version of something quite similar in meaning. I took some time with this, both when I made it now an when I reviewed it, and I don't see how that version (the one you RVed to) is an improvement. Shadowjams (talk) 08:54, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
Ok. Thank you for following up. That speaks highly to your integrity. If you need help, let me know. Shadowjams (talk) 08:54, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Thank you

Really new at this

Hi, I was looking through the templates to find a "thank you" for your welcome but since i really dont know how things work here, I guess this text will have to do.. Thanks. I did put myself for adoption but I dont know if there's a way I can specify that i only want either a medical doctor or a senior medical student to adopt me because otherwise I dont know if they'd be much help.

Nikhil Thakur (talk) 14:40, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

I see you've found a possible mentor. I'm neither a doctor or a med student, so I don't quite fit your bill, but if you have specific questions about wikipedia let me know. I'd be happy to help. Shadowjams (talk) 07:55, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for cleaning up my mistaken reversion on The Secret Series and the IP talk page. It's probably time for bed! Regards, PDCook (talk) 02:59, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

No problem. That article was a mess of vandalism. I knew what you were doing too, and it's good work. Shadowjams (talk) 02:59, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

Question

Thanks for reminding me about the references. I've been a big fan of Aqua Teen for a while now, and when I saw that The Mooninites page was subject for deletion, I figured I would put as much knowledge as I could into it. But besides the episodes themselves, I can't really think of hoiw to reference my information. =/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by RayJay17 (talkcontribs) 09:20, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

I don't believe you...but who cares....Let's just merge all the aqua teen stuff, and spend any spare time on developing the Williams Street article, which needs more good help. Shadowjams (talk) 09:24, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

what don't you believe? lol And that sounds good. I'll do some stuff on it now. RayJay17 (talk) 09:35, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
spent way too much time (approximately 30 seconds) creating the rules above. Why do you disrespect them? I have no idea what you're talking about by the way (again, the rules). Shadowjams (talk) 09:37, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
I was referring to Williams Street. What do you think needs to be added? —Preceding unsigned comment added by RayJay17 (talkcontribs) 09:45, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
From a Wikipedia perspective, I would suggest merging any Aqua Teen Hunger Force characters into the Aqua Teen article. The articles for Deletion discussion about this page seems to be trending towards a merge of the characters to a main article in the same way. Shadowjams (talk) 10:00, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

The India Times is fine, but you're removing a lot of other content along with what you added. The New York Times is not necessary for you to edit here, but it's also not inaccessible. Just go to here. Shadowjams (talk) 10:32, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

Berlin

Hi Shadowjams, what's wrong with the picture? License issues? Regards, --G-41614 (talk) 10:08, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

I assumed from the comment that the article had been deleted. Apparently that comment-out was made in error, although because it's usually done by a bot I assumed it was an edit test. In retrospect I wouldn't normally undo an edit like that, so I'll try to make note of that for the future. Thanks. Shadowjams (talk) 20:41, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

I did not vandalize

Am not able to see the edit which you have reffered to as "vandalism". My contributions page shows only changes to Amy Adams, which was undoing vandalism by a unkown IP address.

Please justify as to what you have considered as vandalism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 8bhatb (talkcontribs) 15:23, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

I don't know what you're doing on that article, but this edit where you undo yourself was part of the problem. Then looking at the extensive history, I had to undo some of those changes. There's also an IP making the same kinds of edits that I may have assumed was related, particularly because you're a brand new account making the same kind of edits to the same page. I'm sorry if that's an inaccurate assumption. I've removed the warning and replaced it with a welcome template. Shadowjams (talk) 20:23, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

Sanford, Maine

It would be better if you look on the edits you are reverting first. Do you really think you increase the quality of the article by reinvert sentenses like this?
"Polls showed that the average Male teenager found his sister and mother more attractive than other local females or normally highly attractive women. Scientist concluded in 1974, this was caused by high levels of radioactivity that caused a problem with Males hormone levels and optical sensory and perception. Now the newer generation of sanfordidians are inbred, angry and fat. The Maine Census Bureau concluded in 2006 that 74.53 sanfordidians were either cross eyed, fat or in one way shape or form as smart as a snapping turtle. Sanfordidians also find strange things amusing, such as car accidents and large red balloons. Scientist also believe the town of Sanford is somehow entrapped in a time paradox which causes the town to think 12 years into the past instead of progressive thinking. Fads, music and fashion trends are sub-par and 12 years behind the rest of the United States."
Thank you! --Otberg (talk) 19:58, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

You mean the page where you removed a paragraph without explanation, replaced it with <gallery>?
I see now, reading the entire paragraph, that it was indeed unproductive. But it began normally which is part of what threw me off. That was a mistake of mine for not noticing your edit summary (which was "vandalism"). Despite your hostile tone above, I do in fact look at the edits I make, but even the most sharp vandalism patroller makes a mistake every now and then. I take a little bit of a risk because I don't exclude "undo" edits because some especially pernicious vandalism hides under those edits, but in response I occasionally make mistakes like this. I'm sorry for that, but please adjust your tone if you need to tell me something in the future. Shadowjams (talk) 20:34, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
No problem, sorry about my tone. I was just suprised. You do a hard and good job here. Regards --Otberg (talk) 20:44, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

You can use my PGP key (which is on my userpage) and post the encrypted message here, we're I'll read it and remove it, but I doubt that I can help you with this. I would suggest that you use the links I posted on your page a while back. In some borderline cases you may have some rights regarding a page about you, but generally speaking, you have no additional rights on wikipedia than you do under U.S. law. If the page is correct, or doesn't violate your privacy, then you cannot compel wikipedia to remove the page. This isn't my decision (I'm not an administrator, and even if I was, I couldn't delete it without a reason). Shadowjams (talk) 08:06, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
As an aside, I saw Dig! and I think that the article is complementary about you. If it's any consolation, it's made me curious about your music, and I certainly haven't found anything in that article disparaging. Shadowjams (talk) 08:17, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Ethnic slur

Let me edit stuff you crook-nosed kyke

The selection of which ethnic slur to apply to a random name on the internet is kind of fascinating, especially because there's absolutely nothing in the edits relative to this IP that would disclose my ethnicity (as though that mattered). Shadowjams (talk) 09:07, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Your edit is incorrect

Hello,

You revised my edit to the VAR page, changing "d>0" to "d>1". This is incorrect: if it were "d>=1" it would be correct, but "d>1" implies that "d" needs to be 2 or greater for the time series to be nonstationary. Again, this is incorrect: d=1 implies I(1), which is difference stationary of degree 1, or, nonstationary. Your change implies that only I(2+) (i.e. difference stationary processes of degree 2 or greater) are nonstationary. Only I(0) series are stationary.

Please don't make such changes if you haven't thought through the implications.

Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.23.243.134 (talk) 23:45, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

Well, you changed d>1 to d>0, then I undid it. Are you sure that you're not confused about the above? Regardless, you may be correct about the math, but you have to understand the environment we're editing in. You've made the edit (twice now) without any explanation. I don't doubt your explanation above, but how would I know you were right then, or how would anyone else know that now? I also see you working the math above, which I don't know enough to dispute, but I don't see any reliable source that indicates it, or agreement from other editors about it.
It was your first edit, you made it without explanation, and you changed a small piece of a larger formula. You didn't add a source, and moreover, that piece of the article was added as [1] d1 two and a half years ago. How should I distinguish your edit from that of a school-child inserting subtle errors?
Maybe you'd find it surprising but a substantial amount of date changing and number changing vandalism goes on on Wikipedia. If you are surprised that this happens, I assure you it does. In cases like this, we look to other things. An explanation, a history of edits, and most of all, a source. Sometimes it's just a feeling. Your edit had none of those things. That's why the message I left you says "If you believe the information that you added was correct, please cite the references or sources or before making the changes, discuss them on the article's talk page."
So, while I appreciate your message that I shouldn't make changes "if [I] haven't thought about the implications", I would also hasten you to think about the implications of your edits, and in the future, please provide a source when you change things like this. If you need some help doing that, I'd be more than happy to assist you. Shadowjams (talk) 01:03, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

Thank you. I hope my meaning is clear at the ANI conversation, but I appreciate your concerns. I don't think any of them (for you or Abductive) are in bad faith, but I do disagree with some of them. I hope I've made it clear where that's the case. I don't think anyone's especially at fault, but I understand competition and I've had my share of mistakes. I hope you find my comments fair, which was my aim. I found your response to my ANI comment extremely fair, and I appreciate that a lot. I still stand by the comments I made before, but thank you for responding here. I'm not the decision maker on this issue, nor should I be, but your candor is helpful. Thank you. Shadowjams (talk) 09:19, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
I've replied with further evidence of his combative edits. Even after you suggested he stop making those edits until there is a central discussion on it which indicates consensus, and after he was told by two editors on the FA that they didn't agree with his pov. He's continued to push, without discussion, it on other articles. [2]. An IP reverted him here (one I posted on AN/I), and he reverted it with bad faith assumptions (Assuming it was me), and without discussing it per WP:BRD [3]. This is the exact problem. This was the pattern and history I was trying to explain at AN/I, and it is frankly disruptive. he was told to seek consensus and he's not. He's just going out to as many articles as he can find and changing it without seeking consensus and not engaging in proper discussion.--Crossmr (talk) 05:03, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
You can see where he continues the bad faith assumptions and turns it into threats on the IPs talk page User_talk:152.16.15.144.--Crossmr (talk) 05:11, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

Re: Teens Run Modesto AfD

Hello, as Page Patrollers you and I have seen each other around the campus (so to speak). I am about to post a comment on the AfD that I am sure the nominator will jump on. I mention you by name because you asked basically out load a reference that might change your mind. Well, here's my best shot and it the one that I thought very notable:

Reference#11 comes from a plastic surgeon's website and details why Doctors Calvin Lee and Tammy Wu decided to get involved. Before the questions and answers appear on that URL citation, Lee says he was supposedly in Asia playing violin when he got a call from another doctor to be a race title sponsor. He was reluctant at first but decided to follow through and is perhaps why people like José Hernández decided to get involved. Supposedly, he also has only lived in Modesto since 2003 but appears to be civic minded as he sponsors the Gallo family's Gallo Center. I keep on asking myself why a husband and wife doctor team would choose to sponsor an inaugural "rinky-dink" fun-run? If they are Gallo Center sponsors, they are on the higher end of the food chain in terms of philantropy. Yes, it might make sense to get involved because he was/is a runner (hadn't run in awhile) because it shows civil involvement but he could have just thrown money at the event and not posted "his ramblings" on his wife's website.

I think you have seen me as a Page and Recent Changes Patroller. I know I have seen you and we have tag-teamed several articles/userpages that have gotten vandalized. Normally, the anon IPs and newbie editors see me as a Speedy Delete SOB because I will nominate articles I do not believe have notability or merit for inclusion on Wikipedia. On the night Teens Run Modesto was created, I saw it and was about to a7 it.

However, as a good Patroller, I keep open before nominating an article for deletion and WP:CSD. I did a google search and decided that this was more than just a WP:CLUB whimsical post. It may actually have been but upon seeing the citations I found, I decided it was not a7 material. I still don't and that is why I am about to make a post.

I wanted you to see some of my rationale because I know the nominator will jump all over my post. He jumped all over my talkpage that night because I declined his CSD and PROD. I still firmly believe that he did not allow the Wikipedia community time to digest this article. Chances are it will not survive this AfD. Maybe I am wasting your time but I can tell you honestly I don't like to waste mine. My laptop dumped on me while I was posting at the AfD page and more accurately while I am posting here on your talkpage. I started the AfD post around 6:30 am PST. Here I am 45 minutes later.

I am going to wait on making the AfD post so I can take a pause for the cause and to allow you to digest what I post here. Thanks in advance for your consideration. --Morenooso (talk) 14:19, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for the dedication and the post at my talk page. Unfortunately by the time I read it (I haven't logged in for a while) the discussion was already closed. I see though that it'd been userfied, so I think that's a pretty good place to start. I won't be nominating it if it comes back up, and I think if those sources are added, it's worth a shot to add it back to the mainspace. Shadowjams (talk) 21:22, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
Actually, it already is/or was there. My laptop died three more times as the a/c cord is frayed. I almost tossed it again the wall. Probably will when I see the closed AfD. I placed the article in my userspace off my main userpage. Hopefully they will do quarterly events. I forgot about posting on the AfD due to a number of reasons (mainly reallifeinteruptus). --Morenooso (talk) 21:25, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

---shadow me---

yo, whats an "acceptable edit" im scared and dont want to be banned please help right now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shadow one eight seven (talkcontribs) 00:51, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Your last 5 edits aren't it, I can say that much. But if you want to see some ways you can help, take a look at the welcome template that someone left on your talk page. You might look at this too. But adding "DEY FUZZZY YO!" isn't all that useful to readers. Maybe pick a topic that you're familiar with... and add useful information to it in full prose form. Don't forget to leave an edit summary too, so others will know why you changed what you did. Shadowjams (talk) 00:54, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Objecting PROD for Manmohan Acharya

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Manmohan Acharya, which you proposed for deletion. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! I hope you can help me

On Wednesday when I was editing in Channel 7 (Thailand), (I was doing a positive edit) but few seconds later User:Boing! said Zebedee undid my edits. But he can't help me. I was removing the "Cambodia" satellite, I know Channel 7 isn't exist on Cambodia satellite, but Boing! said Zebedee think that some other viewers may see it in their Cambodia satellite, I don't know this. I have to make a "Cambodia Satellite Club".--113.53.213.68 (talk) 03:49, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

I agree with Boing! said Zebedee. Your edits have been problematic to those sets of articles and I support his removal. You are aware, there was a discussion about your edits (or someone doing almost exactly the same type of edits, all inside your optherwise unused IP range) at [4]. You need to stop refactoring pages to your own desires, add citations to your edits, and use edit summaries. Shadowjams (talk) 22:07, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
I tried seeing these contributions. Only 125.25.41.162 is me. I agree both another IP user and Boing! said Zebedee. As I know nothing about Myanmar TV. Anyway I have nothing with Vietnam Television, let he do himself.
Another Thai IP user (SE Asia TV editor) told me there are 3 IP users, one of them is me (a 12 year old Thai kid), and another is American editor. But that SE Asia TV editor told Boing! said Zebedee that he will leave English Wikipedia forever. Then now there are two.
I have invesetigated that the American editor likes to edit these 3 articles: Vietnam Television, Magyar Televizio and Sveriges Television. I see he also say the appearances in Vietnam Television and Magyar Televizio stayed for long time ago. I agree with him as he is very sad as Boing! said Zebedee removed it. I don't know that everything on Wikipedia needs references or not maybe I can tell him.--125.25.160.227 (talk) 07:26, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
Fair enough. But put yourself in my shoes. I've seen a number of problematic edits from a very small IP range, and many of those edits look very similar. You realize you could avoid this whole issue by singing up for an account. Shadowjams (talk) 08:00, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
You're very kind! I remember in March when I have problem at TVP article, and I see you help me very good!
I see that American editor asked AxG to block Boing! said Zebedee forever for watching these pages.
The page you showed me, most of them are the SE Asia TV editor, which have quited.
I suggest you to watch Myanmar Radio and Television, Myanmar TV, Myanmar Television, Television in Burma pages.--125.25.160.227 (talk) 11:56, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Greek genocide

Hi, I am not removing any information from the said article, just to the contrary I am trying to add sourced information to it, which is being repetadly deleted without explanations. Thanks for your concern anyway..--85.107.38.237 (talk) 03:08, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

I'm sorry. That appears to be correct--you only moved that section. That said, you are engaged in quite the edit war on that article. I haven't figured out exactly what that edit war consists of yet, but you [and the other IP from exactly the same region with nearly the same edits] have been undone by 4 different editors at least 8 times in the last 2 days. I don't know what that's all about, but you need to seek consensus. You should probably read WP:3RR as well. Shadowjams (talk) 03:13, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Yes, all IP`s are me, but the problem in here these editors act as if they own the article and do not wish the inclusion of anything that they do not want to see in there. You can check the Talk page, there is no way that any consensus can ever be reached when the opposing party does not even bother to take the effort to discuss the issue in hand. I`m really waiting for these editors to give explanations as to why these quotations should not be included.--85.107.38.237 (talk) 03:23, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Well, that's fair. I won't get involved in that issue because I don't know anything about the controversy. I've removed the warning I left; I"m sorry my reason was innacurate. Although, I think the reason it came up at all was because of the previous 3RR warnings. Undoing like that is not going to be an effective strategy in the long-term. You should really try to reach some consensus, or at the least figure out where your views differ. Shadowjams (talk) 03:25, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Enzyme Unit

Hello,

The correct temperature that enzyme activity is 25 degrees Celcius. That is standard temperature; 30 is not correct. I also have my BioChemistry book which corroborates that.

Ok. You should cite the biochem book. You can use the <ref>Book title etc.</ref> format that's supported on the menu bar, or you can use the slightly more complicated {{cite-book}} template. Shadowjams (talk) 06:38, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

User Smileeej

W.R.T. your warning of Smileeej (talk · contribs), take a look at his discussion on my talk page. I for one am happy that he is acting in good faith and that the information about Simon King attending Wells Cathedral School is incorrect. --Simple Bob (talk) 09:21, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

He removed a cited description of an attended school, without explanation, after already having removed the individual from another page, and in his first edit waring an established editor for a "removal". You'd warned him up to 3R until you undid it all too, something that I'm sure you're aware was on my screen when I undid one of his edits. Looking at the broader picture, I wonder if you weren't right with your first warnings. Shadowjams (talk) 09:26, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
Having heard his argument and knowing who he is (King's manager) I am happy to believe that he is correct in stating King didn't attend Wells Cathedral School. Certainly as a new Wikipedia editor he hasn't gone about things in the best way, but we need to cut newbies a bit of slack sometimes. There is also an obvious COI, but he isn't contributing greatly to King's article, he has just fixed an error. --Simple Bob (talk) 09:32, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
Thank you. I'll let you handle that, because I trust your judgment. Shadowjams (talk) 09:35, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Your autorevert bot

Is not helping. My anonymous edits to m5 fiber were sourced in the article. I'm going to put them back now.

Scythe33 (talk) 08:47, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

That's fine if you readd that, but it wasn't sourced and there was something curious about the wording that caused me to undo it. Shadowjams (talk) 07:31, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Moncena Dunn disambiguation

I have added references. Moncena Dunn fought in the Fredericksburg campaign during the Civil War and his deeds are recorded in books about the campaign. I have added another blue link. Is it OK now? Schmausschmaus (talk)

Moncena Dunn (disambiguation) is a disambiguation page, which means that it needs to only consist of links and brief descriptions. Because Moncena Dunn (captain) page does not exist, there is nothing to disambiguate. And while I appreciate the research, you should instead use those citations and references to create a new article about the civil war Dunn. If you do that there will be two links, at which point feel free to remove the prod. Here is the full style guide for disambig pages, or the specific criteria for two links (WP:2DAB) and some specific information about what not to include WP:DABNOT. Thanks. Shadowjams (talk) 20:54, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

I have added a second blue link Battle of Fredericksburg. Is it OK now? ~~

Why not just create the Moncena Dunn (captain) article? Shadowjams (talk) 00:38, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Streets of St. Louis

(Jordan S. Wilson (talk) 20:35, 28 April 2010 (UTC)) Greetings Shadowjam. Does history and facts count as noblity in the Streets of St. Louis? I have found a link that supports some of the street articles. St. Louis Street Index

Anwar Brett

The article above already has two references with his name near the top, including the BBC and the BAFTA. As such the basis of the tag seems counterintuitive to me. There are also several Wikipedia articles linking to it. If U find other reason(s) to delete the article though, feel free to add the appropriate proposal tag(s) but please consider removing this one first. Warmest Regards, :)—thecurran Speak your mind my past 14:13, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

It's tagged because neither of those are references. They are links to a story where he's the interviewer and another page that says he writes the obituaries. Those links aren't about him. He appears to be living, so the article needs to satisfy the BLP guidelines. Please add some references that talk about him as opposed to being by him. Shadowjams (talk) 00:37, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

If U feel such a distinction needs to be addressed, please propose a change to Wikipedia:BLP#Using the subject as a self-published source. Until such a motion passes, your basis still seems ungrounded. If U wish to see other references, please consider adding http://anwarbrett.com/ or http://au.rottentomatoes.com/author/author-10765/ . Warmest Regards, :)—thecurran Speak your mind my past 19:28, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

I'm not making some new distinction here. It's obvious that if I make a page about John Doe and add a reference to <ref>http://www.google.com</ref> that's not a reference that satisfies BLP. Similarly if I make it and ref John Doe's facebook page, that's not a reference that satisfies BLP. You're making the same mistake again by adding his own personal website to that list above. Why don't you actually add some reference to the page, instead of arguing with me? I'll do some research on him myself and either add some third party sources, or nominate it for deletion. Shadowjams (talk) 19:43, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
The reference to Wikipedia:BLP#Using the subject as a self-published source isn't relevant. That policy discusses article content, does not address the BLP prod, and doesn't indicate that stories he bylined indicate his notability. The relevant criteria is "To be canceled, this process requires the presence of at least one reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article." BLP-PROD Your removal doesn't satisfy that criteria. Shadowjams (talk) 20:13, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
Please address the Rotten Tomatoes link. Warmest Regards, :)—thecurran Speak your mind my past 20:21, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

Please watch WP:Articles for deletion/Anwar Brett#Anwar Brett as well as the article as i believe your point of WP:RS has been met. Warmest Regards, :)—thecurran Speak your mind my past 21:24, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

On counter-vandalism

Hey there, I've noticed in recent weeks that you're a very prominent counter-vandal. Thus, I thought it'd be appropriate to give you this to recognise your loyalty to the Wikipedia anti-vandalism cause. Keep up the work! Deagle_AP (talk) 01:00, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

FTAThis user is persistent in the fight against vandalism. Hence, the user has been entrusted with membership into Wikipedia's Fire Team Alpha.
Thank you. Shadowjams (talk) 07:39, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

AIV Page Posting

Would you be willing to take a second look at User:Valann1235's postings on your talk page and verify that they are actually vandalism? Thanks! Jminthorne (talk) 08:05, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

Yeah you're right. I'm not sure what I was thinking with that post. The good news is I logged off soon after that--I was clearly too tired at that point. I've left a message giving him the answer he's looking for. Shadowjams (talk) 19:20, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
Let me expand a bit on this because I'm still not sure what it is. This editor made posts to my and Marek's page's asking for info about Harry H. Pennes. This is a real article and a real man, but with some obvious phonetic qualities that made me wonder if this was for real. I also had never edited that page, or had an interaction so that this editor could have found me. I think my conclusion was that someone I had warned as an IP had created an account and was trolling. That was why I called it "probably vandalism" in an edit summary. This is someone with enough knowledge about wikipedia to post on people's talk pages, and to find my name (how would he have found my name without being able to find the contribution summary?) and yet is unaware of the history button.
On the other hand, that's not enough evidence to go to AIV, which you're completely right about. I was tired and drew some conclusions that are impossible to verify (unless the account goes on a spree of similar humor, or starts editing enormously productively), so I shouldn't have sent it to AIV. Good catch, thank you for that. I've assumed good faith now and answered him on his talk page. Shadowjams (talk) 19:30, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
Happens to all of us at some point, I think. Regards, and thanks for following up! Jminthorne (talk) 21:11, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
