I recommend that you use at least one footnote for each separate paragraph in the overview. This lends credibility and prevents future wholesale deletion if someone decides they don't like it. (Haven't read ahead to see how it played out, but) my suggestion is to use your sandbox and provide formatted footnotes. As those are provided, move them back into the article. I am guessing there is little merit in trying to keep something in the article without a footnote, if someone doesn't like it. Just isn't worth it. Referenced material is another matter. Good luck! As far as quantity, I would suggest one per paragraph, but if editors object, you may be forced to one per sentence. I almost never add anything that isn't in a reference someplace. And I almost never get reverted except in fine line cases where the material probably shouldn't be in that article in the first place. Student7 (talk) 20:19, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
