Serban Marin
Welcome!
editWelcome to Wikipedia, Serban Marin! I am Pharaoh of the Wizards and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome! Your own article
editYou might be interested to know that I voted for deletion of the article Serban Marin, mainly edited by you, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Serban Marin, because I do not believe that in its current form, it should be included in the encyclopædia at this time. (Besides, creating an article of yourself is considered a conflict of interest.) Hopefully your notability will grow over time, however, and you'll eventually earn the article. Meanwhile, you can keep an overview of who you are and what you study on your user page.
Furthermore, don't let the AFD discourage you as a scholar -- there are plenty of topics about European medieval history where your contributions will certainly be welcomed. Most people who edit Wikipedia don't have mainspace entries about themselves, and unlike you, many aren't even really scholars.
Sincerely yours, sir not-appearing-in-this-encyclopædia ΔιγουρενΕμπρος! 13:45, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for January 30
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Odo of Vitry, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Vitry (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

editI'm not sure if you are still active on Wikipedia, but if so I would appreciate your views of this question. Many thanks! AndrewRT(Talk) 22:19, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
