Precentral Gyrus

edit

I think it would be better to separate the articles on Precentral Gyrus and Primary Motor Cortex. The primary motor cortex is usually defined on the basis of cytoarchitectonic features (Betz cells), whereas the precentral gyrus is defined on the basis of macro-anatomical features (between central and precentral sulcus). Furthermore, the primary motor cortex is mainly confined to the anterior wall of the central sulcus and only in its dorsal extent reaches the surface of the precentral gyrus. The precentral gyrus on the other hand mainly encompasses the premotor cortex. Troas 18:09, 2 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
