Iranian Revolution

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I have mentioned why I reverted on the talk page of the article in question. Large amounts of content were being removed from the article without explanation. Iranian Revolution isn't perfect, but it is a former featured article candidate with a long history and a plethora of references. If content is to be removed, some evidence must be presented that it is inaccurate. For instance, from more than one article the information that the Shah used helicopters against protestors on Black Friday was removed. This has been reported as fact in almost every work I have read on the subject. To remove generally accepted facts like this, some fairly strong counter evidence must be presented. Even then the information should not removed. Rather it should be replaced by a more detailed statement, such as "it was for a time commonly believed that the Shah's forces used helicopter gunships against protestors, but a new study by Scholar X has shown this not to be the case." - SimonP 21:25, 16 September 2005 (UTC)Reply
