About your question

The numbers appearing on watchlists and the recent changes page show the increase or decrease in the number of bytes in the page. On the English Wikipedia, this is normally the same as how many characters have been added or removed from a page in that edit. A positive green number indicates the number of bytes that have been added, and a negative red number indicates the number of bytes that have been removed. Just a random comment: a (0) means that the number of bytes didn't change, however the content was still modified (if it were unmodified it wouldn't be listed in a change). Blanking (and the revert of it) as well as spam (and the removal of it) will create a huge modification to the number of bytes in the article and therefore sometimes are very apparent. - Penwhale | Blast the Penwhale 07:21, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Refs!

Hi there, I noticed you're adding your new info into the Herpes simplex article, but seem to be struggling with the formatting of references. Are you using Pubmed to find your articles? If so, there is a link here that will allow you to automatically generate citations using a pubmed ID number. And there is another one here for filling in refs directly from Google scholar. Canine viruses

Had a quick peek at the two pages you mentioned. The distemper page looks pretty good, but doesn't have any info about the actual virus (virus link goes right back to that page, so the should be there). Parvovirus looks like it needs a little help in the end half of "treatment". Be happy to help out - just let me know what you need! Be warned though - I may be busy the next month or so! Google books

Hi there, no problem. You can wikify the citations for books using the same program for Google scholar - maybe to filter out the journals, you could type the word "book" in the search. You should then get a list of stuff with a [book] marker next to them. Citation tools

Hi there! Yes, I'd noticed that tool stopped working too -- it's unfortunate. There is a list of citation tools to chose from here. I personally use this one since it is really easy to use -- you need to search for items using an external search application (like pubmed) and grab the relevant ID number, but it is all pretty straightforward.
