Regards Positive/Negative Feedback edits

edit

Hi Sapientsage. Regards your recent edits commented with "I really think that stabilizing/amplifying feedback is an easier way for people to understand..." etc. While I am inclined to agree up to a point, there are some arguments against your changes.

  • Use of "amplifying" tends to tie the subject to electronics - fair enough historically, but the cited sources tend to avoid this as the idea of feedback loops has wider applicability now.
  • The point about stabilization for negative feedback is covered in the lead paragraph - if you want to include the specific term "stabilizing feedback" you need to provide a cited reference, not just your own opinion. See also discussion on the article's Talk page.

I have therefore reversed your edit in the Negative feedback article, but not the Positive feedback one, since the previous version was also uncited. If you disagree, please comment on the relevant article's talk page. Kind regards. Trevithj (talk) 05:51, 31 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.  You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. If you prefer to be unblocked for the purpose of changing your username to a username which complies with our username policy, so that your contributions with this username are recorded as contributions of your new username and rather than creating a new account, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice instead. Thank you.
