Comment in a Google document

What, if any user wants to give their opinion, even they don't have edit rights for any google document. So Google has provided a feature to comment on google document. Keep reading this document, If you wish to see how this feature works?

Steps

1. Login into Google Drive

To comment, we need to open a google document, and that would be possible only when we login into our google drive with url http://drive.google.com and by specifying the valid credentials.

2. Search and Open the Google Document

After login, you can search the document using the search box.

You can double click on the searched document or you can open any google document directly by choosing options.

3. Add comment in Google Document

Select the text in the document for that you are commenting.

On selection you will be able to see a plus (+) sign button which shows to add a comment.

You can add the comment under the option of open comment thread where you can see all the comments in the notification.

4. Assign comment in Google Document

Enter the comment, which could be your opinion, view, suggestions.

Search the email with the name or email id by preceding with a plus (+) sign whom you want to assign the note.You can assign the note to multiple users as well by specifying the email id with comma sign (,).

You can send notification via email, you have to set the "Assign to" checkbox as checked. This will notify to users added during comment.

On submitting the comment, this will show "Assigned to" status at bottom of the comment box.

Email sent to user which shows, what and who has commented. You can open the document directly and can see the details.

You can edit, delete and send the link of comment to the person who has access to view or edit the document.

Concern regarding Draft:Comment in a Google document

  Hello, Sandhya.kabra13. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Comment in a Google document, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 5 months. Draft space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for article space.
