Image Tagging for Image:HK QES logo.png

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:HK QES logo.png. However, the copyright tag you've used is deprecated or obsolete, and should not be used. This could be because the tag is inaccurate or misleading, or because it does not adequately specify the copyright status of the image. For a list of copyright tags that are in current use, see the "Public domain", "Free license", and "Fair use" sections of Wikipedia:Image copyright tags.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 10:04, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry. I just used the same tag on the Chinese Wikipedia. So I want to ask which tag I should use. --Samwingkit 10:07, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
That depends. If, as I suspect, it's a European-style coat of arms, with a formal text description known as a blazon, then find out the blazon and have someone draw up a free-license replacement. If it's an American-style coat of arms, then it's really a shield-shaped logo, and should be tagged as {{logo}}. --Carnildo 04:19, 15 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thailand isn't a territory of China, you know.

edit

You've recently added Template:Territories of Greater China to the Thailand article. I'm a Thai, and as far as I know, Thailand isn't a territory of China or uses Chinese language as its main language. Chineses in Thailand are minorities, and most of them speak Thai even to each other. Only the oldest Chinese, i.e. those who fled the Communist regime to Thailand very long time ago, continue to use Chinese, and many of them learned how to speak Thai anyway. So I'm removing the template from the article. The template has been already removed from the Malaysia article as well. - DTRY 16:06, 27 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:HK QES logo.png)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:HK QES logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 16:32, 28 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: QES alumni section

edit

Dear Samwingkit, looking for Cheung or Chang or Zhang in the National Sci Foundation home page (www.nsf.gov), we cannot find the person cited as Director for the Mech Eng Directorate. If that is untrue information, perhaps it's best to delete it. Kgwu24 (talk) 21:19, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Kgwu24Reply

The alumnus' surname is Chong, with English first name Ken. I found that along with Hon-Yim Ko, Edward Ng, and Banjamin Wah, they are the QES people cited in the American Men & Women of Science. Wah is recently announced as new Provost of CUHK, in this press release. Please add his name to the QES list.

Volleyball players

edit

I have seen that you edited some volleyball articles. Some players articles, most of them looks outdated. I would like to improve players by country. Could you please choose a country to contribute with? Please take a look on Yekaterina Gamova, Hélia Souza, Serena Ortolani and Kenia Carcaces for a model to follow. Please can you please improve some volleyball players with infobox and some addons? References are very important. Let me know. Oscar987 22:30, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of File:Maozedong tc+sc+jp.jpg

edit

The file File:Maozedong tc+sc+jp.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused text only file.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
