Hi there:

I am an English Wikipedia user of some experience, and I see that you are looking to be adopted by an experienced user. As I live in England, we would not have the time zone problems that many mentors have, and I would be happy to adopt you. I have, for the moment, sent you our standard welcome message (below). Left-click on the blue links to get much of the basic information about wikipedia. If you would like me to adopt you - which is not binding, you can always change - send me a message on my tallkk page, and I will amend the userboxes. Therafter, of course, use me as the first line of enquiry; that is the idea and basic concept.--Anthony.bradbury 21:39, 26 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Adoption Request

edit

Hi. I see you have requested adoption and I am seeking to adopt. Please take a look at my userpage and see if I am a good fit to be your mentor. If you agree to be adopted by me, then let me know on my talk page by clicking the "+" symbol at the top of the page and letting me know. If not, I would still be glad to answer any questions you have at any time. Welcome to Wikipedia! --MECUtalk 15:49, 20 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Adoption

edit

I am delighted to be asked to adopt you, which I will happily do. I will amend the userboxes on your and my pages after sending this message. I do not suppose that you will ask stupid questions, given that stupid is not the same as basic, but if you do I will be happy to answer them. I am on line every evening, except when on holiday, so leave a message any time. As we share the time time zone I will normally answer straight away, although I note on your user page that you can stay up until 4 am, which I do not guarantee to do!--Anthony.bradbury 21:39, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Getting lost

edit

Hi there; I have not heard from you, and wondered if you had got lost, as you said you had some skill in doing. Directions follow in baby-talk; if you know this, my apologies.

To contact me, left-click on my name, which apears in blue at the bottom of this message. This will take you to my userpage. Left-click on "discussion". Left-click on the "+" which sits between "edit this page" and "history". In the little text-box which appears at the top of the text-page, type in a short title for your message - "help", "adoption", "problem", "happy new year" or anything at all that you want to use as a header. Then left-click on the "tab" key, which is the one on the left of the PC keyboard above caps-lock, with the two arows on. Then type away all you want. Do not forget to sign off with four tildes - ~~~~ - when you are finished. happy wikying.--Anthony.bradbury 23:41, 6 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's a big, strange world in Wikipedia when you first start, but if you log in regularly in a week or two you'll be zooming around as if you owned it. Trust me. Meanwhile, you've now found me, so any questions, feel free.--Anthony.bradbury 23:18, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Adoption

edit

Hi there; you have not, it appears, found the need to ask any questions, and I assume that you no longer need to be adopted. Unless I hear from you, I will remove the userboxes. Please feel free to ask me for help in the future.--Anthony.bradbury 00:33, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
