Speedy deletion nomination of Etco

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Etco requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Toddst1 (talk) 15:54, 3 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Amerant Bank moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to AmerantBank. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources and alerady exists in the draft. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. BoraVoro (talk) 12:09, 19 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello,
I disagree and will republish the page. The draft version of the page appears to have been written by a paid source which is against Wikipedia standards. Further, there are at least 10 reputable sources including SEC, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, NBA, NHL in the version I created. It was reviewed and accepted as a starter page. I will also add further sources today as others have contributed to the page, which is incidentally linked to from the Amerant Bank Arena page. To not have a page that describes an organization that owns the naming rights to a notable structure (Amerant Bank Arena) which in and of itself is written about in Wikipedia is incorrect.
The page should not be removed. Samdini0 (talk) 14:10, 19 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
I think there's enough to sustain the article(7th largest bank in Florida is a claim to notability)- although you are in error that an organization owning naming rights to an arena is sufficient grounds for notability. A named arena can be notable while its namesake is not, it depends on the coverage in independent reliable sources of the namesake.
Do you have a connection to this bank? You hadn't edited in 12 years before deciding to edit about this bank. 331dot (talk) 08:27, 20 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
