Proposed deletion of James Yeates

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article James Yeates, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 22:24, 28 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Some advice

edit

I get that you are frustrated. Wikipedia isn't quite what you expected it to be, and that makes you angry. You now have a choice. You could take a few deep breaths, make a cup of tea, and read some of our rules and policies, trying to understand what Wikipedia is and how it works. You might find our three pillars- verifiability, neutral point of view, and no original research, to be a good overview of what we're doing at Wikipedia. Maybe you'll even get excited by our mission, which is a beautiful and idealistic one, and stay to help us write this amazing fountain of free, reliable information. That's the choice I'd recommend. Or you could make the most popular choice for people in your position- you could decide that Wikipedia isn't what you expected it to be, and you aren't really interested in what it really is, and just move on with your life elsewhere. That's an okay choice, too, and leaves you free to come back some day if you change your mind. Or, you can just decide that, since Wikipedia isn't what you expected it to be, it must be wrong and bad. You could continue disrupting discussions of the application of rules you haven't read yet, insulting hard-working volunteers for doing their jobs. That's a path that would get you blocked from editing any longer. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 00:49, 29 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
