I have edited the article a few times and tried to group the sources into some logical order of Organisation, Newspapers, Online Magazines and then Sponsors. I have added more inline references as well. Can you be more specific with the part of the article that is concerning you? Martin Fitzgibbons

Can the article be put back in place please? I indicated I am travelling at the moment and won't have a good internet connection until at least next Wed when I may be able to work on it again. Thank you for your assistance. Sallyfitzgibbons (talk) 19:48, 14 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I've put the article submission on hold. I saw that there are quite a number of external links. External links should not exist in the article itself. You can convert them to citations or internal links(if they have a wikipedia article). You can also have a external links section but please make sure they comply to the guidelines here. Under the sources section I noticed that there are links under 'Surfing Organistions/Controlling Bodies', 'Newspapers', 'Online Surfing Publications', and 'Sponsors'. What are they for? Also, citations to Wikipedia articles are not reliable sources. It'll be great if you can change them. Bejinhan talks 13:05, 2 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I broke the sources into sections as the previous editor was telling me the sources were no good. What I was trying to do was reference that most of the information could be verified by by the surfing bodies ie the Professional Organisations that run the sport Sally Fitzgibbons is involved in, which in the case of results they are the originating source. Newspapers seemed to be the next best source as they verify facts before printing and the links to these were stories that verified some of the other info. Naturally Sponsors may be a biases source but they also had information on the subject. Should I remove all external links in the article?

I'm a bit confused by the sources but I guess I'll figure them out later. Do those sources in the sections already exist in the article? Wikipedia is not a reliable source, so you can remove it. No, you can leave all the external links in the External links section and I'll go through them. Also, please sign after leaving a message here by typing 4 tildes: ~~~~. Maybe I have doubled up on them in a few places. When the previous editor was questioning the content I decided to reference everything that factual to an external reference. So pretty much everything I wrote can be proved following the link to a reliable source. Then referenced to her sponsors which is where I came unstuck as I had written the Bio for her at the etnies.com site. Which meant I had to get etnies to release the text to the public domain. Bit confusing I know but its my first try. What I did do was look at the Wiki for Stephanie Gilmore the Number 1 surfer in the world as a guide but now when I look at it again it doesn't seem to hardly any references. Ben, how do I get back to the article? Sallyfitzgibbons (talk) 06:05, 5 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

You can click on the header topic above or here. Please make the changes as soon as possible so that I can review them. You can put them into citation form like what you did for the rest, instead of external links. Bejinhan talks 05:56, 7 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I will be travelling to Europe the next week so it might take a few days to get back to it but I will make changes asap. Sallyfitzgibbons (talk) 13:44, 7 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I understand your travel will interfere, but it can't linger at AFC forever. I will go ahead and decline your article and userfy it (see WP:USERFY). It will be available at User:Sallyfitzgibbons/My article. —DuncanWhat I Do / What I Say 22:21, 13 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

How to change your username

edit

You can get your username changed. See WP:CHU. I-20the highway 21:21, 22 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

This account also needs to be blocked per WP:REALNAME: users are not permitted to edit under the real name of a well-known living person unless they are that person and can prove it via OTRS. This is all rather confusing, since there appears to be OTRS confirmation on this account permitting use of material from http://etnies.com/team/girl/sally-fitzgibbons. If you are not Sally Fitzgibbons but nonetheless a close associate, you should avoid editing this article and it probably should not have been created. -- Rrburke (talk) 01:12, 23 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
