Ibn-e-Safi

edit

Tearlach, I am now registered as Safi-fan. Thanks for keeping an eye on my articles on Ibn-e-Safi and characters of his novels.

Sorry about the slow reply - I only just saw your message. It's a very interesting topic; a pity that Safi hasn't been translated into English. From the descriptions, the books sound great reading and so imaginative - like Joseph, who only thinks he's an alcoholic. Tearlach 01:03, 1 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Jasoosi Dunya

edit

Thanks for your contribution to Wikipedia. Kindly note that I have slightly modified the article Complete List of Jasoosi Dunya (Old), as I considered having it deleted due to the lack of context. However, certain elements remain unclear, and I think it advisable if you would explain in the article why there are "new" and "old" lists of the above, as this is not at all clear. Sourcing

edit

I agree about your comment on your user page about work being needed to make the Ibn-e-Safi-related articles more encyclopedic. At the moment, they're mainly just what Wikipedia editors remember about the books. A good thing would be to try to get better sourcing in what other reliable sources say (like Agatha Christie's praise of Ibn-e-Safi's works). The articles about James Bond and characters in that series are a very good model. I know it's a lot of work, and I wish I could help more, but I can't read Urdu. Questions

edit

Hi there: I came across the entries for Safi by accident and became interested because I'm part of the Crime Task Force. I've posted a couple of questions on the talk page of Safi and, just judging by what you've said there and on your personal page, you might be the person who could answer them. Could I ask for you to give your opinion on the Safi talk page? Many thanks in advance. I'm assuming that none of these books is available in English, but if you know different, I'd like to know that too because I don't speak or read Urdu. I don't know if you are familiar with English-language series books like Doc Savage and The Shadow but there may be some cross-cultural parallels that would interest you. On the page devoted to Sajid Hameed, you asked what more needed to be done, and I hope you would find my comments there to be worthwhile suggestions with respect to the entire set of linked pages about the works of Ibn-e-Safi and his imitators. Accounting4Taste 23:46, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
