Does this count too?

Wow, that really seems like cheating.

Pasturella Pestis edit

I have tagged that page for speedy deletion under criterion G8, which states that pages which are dependent on nonexistent pages may be deleted – in this case, Pasturella Pestis was a redirect to Yersinia Pestis, which does not exist. Before you create a redirect to another page, please click on the "show preview" button under the edit box to make sure that the target page exists. Also, if you were planning to create the Yersinia Pestis article in the future, please do not create pre-emptive redirects. Hope this helps you in the future. --Dylan620 (contribs, logs, review) 13:32, 6 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thanks, and sorry. I meant to account for an alternative spelling of Pasteurella pestis, but I didn't realize that taxonomic animal names had the genus capitalized and the species uncapitalized. So what I should have done was have ''Pasturella pestis'' redirect to ''Yersinia pestis'', which does exist. Would that be an acceptable usage?
Also, I noticed that we are both named Dylan :D. I don't have much time to be a serious contributor, but I like to help with inconsistencies on articles that I use for school, and I would like to know more about WP policies and the like. I looked around on your user page and was surprised by the complexity of WP's support group, including the adopt-a-user program, which I hadn't heard of before. So even though I can only be involved a little bit at a time, and I will probably only have the time to ask questions now and then, I was wondering if you would like to adopt me as a user. Thanks and I hope to hear back. SaaHc2B (talk) 18:36, 6 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello edit

I've decided to take you under my wing. Sorry for holding out on you for so long. So, when would you like to begin? --Dylan620 (contribs, logs) 06:53, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi! That's great. Thanks. I totally understand your delay, as I am also very busy and will probably only be visiting Wikipedia on an on and off basis. Though please don't give up on me, even if I am absent for a long period of time, as I plan on becoming a dedicated user.
I'm not quite sure where to begin, although I do have far too many questions to ask all at once. I guess for one thing I'd like you to help me to help myself; Can you explain to me some of the structure of Wikipedia and the Wikimedia sites in general, especially the help pages? I have become very confused by all the categories and wikiprojects and stubs and templates and such, so I don't really know where to go to get the best overall "big picture" of wikipedia.
Also, should I make a page linked to my talk/ user page for adoption conversations like this? I also don't know if I need to post this on your talk page for you to get notified, so I will do that, although it might then notify you twice. :P Sorry. And another thing- I'd like to fix that Yersinia Pestis redirect page thing X ).
Again, these are just a few of my questions, and again, Thanks! SaaHc2B (talk) 03:40, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello there. I see that you are looking for an adoption from an experienced user. Well - I am writing here to offer you an adoption, as I am pretty experienced myself. I would be happy to adopt you. Adoption etiquette edit

I have removed your request for further adoption offers. Entertaining multiple offers is poor etiquette and a disruption to the community, which can be grounds for being blocked. Please choose from the offers you have already received or target specific adopters at Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User/Adoptee's Area/Adopters. —Eustress talk 14:06, 12 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ok, that's fine. Thanks for the reclarification. SaaHc2B (talk) 01:06, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
