Hello SKRO53 Sorry for the delayed response as I have not logged into Wikipedia for some time. Good to hear from you. To answer your question, No, Rohe is not Rohde. Rohe and Rohde are each different crew members of the 116th. Rohe Crew 9 and Rohde Crew 7. I would be pretty certain they knew each other being in the officer group! Do you have any photos of his serviceVeradrive (talk) 14:36, 11 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Veradrive. Thanks for the information. While doing some research tonight, I discovered that Vincent Rohe passed away just last year. He had a friend record some of his experiences in a blog post. The catch was that it was written as if by his dog. Apparently, Rohe took his dog with him on all his missions! The link is vicsocotra.com/wordpress/2016/11/the-red-dog. Regarding my dad, I don't have any wartime photos. At the end of '45, he went back out to the Pacific with VPB-106. He took and printed a bunch of photos on captured Japanese photo paper, including squadron formation flying and shots from around the base. The Wikipedia page for VPB-116 cites Rohe's plane as bombing a Japanese weather station on Maug ... my dad's plane was along on that run as well. In the early 50's, he was flying out of Guam and went by Maug to take photos of the island. If there was weather station there, I sure can't see it. Right now I'm trying to learn how to make edits and list references in Wikipedia and am having a hard time, so if you see a messed-up entry from me, I'm trying to get it right.
