The 24 year old was born to a Belgian father and a Namibian mother.[1] She left her motherland at the age of five and grew up in the Netherlands. A name which so appropriately suites her as she wears that crown high, especially in the Namibian music industry.Shishani’s voice can be described as soulful, smooth and captivating, her style can be compared to artists like Tracy Chapman, Erykah Badu and Lauren Hill just to name a few. On stage she gently commands attention and radiates security and strength one would not expect on such a young woman. Over the years she has collaborated with various artists, performing internationally in countries such as Ireland, Belgium, France, Morocco as well as the Czech Republic. Shishani was nominated in the 2011 Namibian Annual Music Awards(NAMAs) for her hit single “minority”.[2]

Shishani’s lyrics are simple, however deep, driving home a message and feeling that fans are left mesmerized and begging for more. To hear the talented Shishani sing, one can sample her music like some of her hit songs “Minority” and “Windhoek” on you tube or on her my space pages.
