Lasara Firefox

edit

Dear Rogue Papa,

Please stop deleting other people's editing with no explanation. You might wish to characterize Lasara Firefox only a certain way, but that doesn't mean anything. Other editors have spent a lot of time creating this article and sourcing the content. Lasara's career includes a great deal of other work besides her involvement with NLP. She has been a lecturer at magical and Neo-Pagan events, a president of Church of All Worlds, and a published author. Even if she is abandoning her past, and you have offered NO reason to believe this is so, this is an encyclopedia article about her and not just an advertisement for her latest endeavors. I have included the information about her NLP work; please stop excising properly-cited material about her other activities and history. Rosencomet (talk) 18:02, 17 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

While you are welcome to add and revise material in the article, wholesale expunging of significant portions of her past which are well documented isn't really very helpful. You are also adding material without providing third party reliable sources which are verifiable. While biographies of living people standards allow for some leeway, I think you are overstepping and whitewashing her career in your revision process. Welcome

Welcome!

Hello, Rogue.papa, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one of your contributions does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  Pigman☿/talk 22:28, 17 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

BLP discussion concerning LaSara FireFox

edit

Since you haven't responded yet to the concerns raised about your dramatic revisions of this article, I decided to bring it up at Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons/Noticeboard#LaSara_FireFox to get some feedback and more eyes on the article. You might like to participate in the discussion. Cheers, Pigman☿/talk 23:38, 17 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

While I can understand her desire to distance herself from certain aspects of her psst, a Wikipedia article isn't just someone's PR profile. You can't just try and wipe out her past writings, articles, work, etc. It just doesn't work that way here. Please look at some of the links in the welcome message I put here just above this. What it your connection to LaSara FireFox? Are you her husband? You almost certainly have a conflict of interest in editing the article if you are doing it directly at her behest. Cheers, Pigman☿/talk 00:17, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I want to remind you that it is highly recommended that you communicate with other editors on the talk page of articles. This is particularly true if you plan on radically refocusing the article. There is a link to the talk page at the top of every article. If you have any questions, please leave a message on my talk page. Cheers, Pigman☿/talk 17:36, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

YAMA addition to Wikipedia

edit

I am new to Wikipedia and want to do things correctly. I have reviewed the methods but do not wish to add to a post without discussion.

Do I post here for ideas and etc?

I would like to update the "Yama" defintion to include yogic modes of conduct, as it is not listed in wikipedia (under "yama") with its other definitions.

Is this the place to begin?

Thank you
