Urban contemporary

The format's page is called "Urban contemporary", whereas "Urban Contemporary" leads to a redirect to "Urban contemporary". Any mislabeled links should be fixed. Thanks!Stereorock (talk) 03:14, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

Furthermore, if you look at the page for the format, you'll find the format name isn't capitalized in ordinary usage (unless of course it starts a sentence, in which case only the first word gets cap'd, as usual for any sentence). It's just "urban contemporary". That is correct usage. These things are not proper names, so the words in them shouldn't be cap'd in ordinary prose (for example, in radio station articles). A proper wikilink within a sentence is therefore e.g.

[[urban contemporary]]

. In that case the renderer will do an automatic redirect to the page name, which is indeed "Urban contemporary", but there is no need to "fix" the reference to get rid of that. In fact even references that go through actual redirects don't need to be "fixed". A double redirect will not be followed by the renderer and should be corrected. See WP:REDIRECT for more details. Where are you getting the information for format changes? Do you have what Wikipedia considers a reliable source for them? If you do, you should cite it in each case. If not then the material would be considered original research (i.e. your own opinion) and should not be used in the article.
