Metalstorm

Kindly remove your "too long" tag from Metalstorm - I originally wrote the article and yes I know it's too long, but I'm planning to shorten it in due time. Adding that tag just creates a raid of idiots who'll start deleting everything randomly or summarize it badly and it looks like crap and makes no sense. And I know because I've dealt with it on other overly-long articles I tend to write. So I ask you to delete your tag and give me a chance to fix it when I get that chance. Thanks. Deleting Lists

It would be nice if you gave someone the courtesy of adding a short explanation to their article's talk page as to why you think it should be deleted; personally, I do think my page (List_of_memorials_in_video_games) is of use and I've had several comments about it from Usenet.

Why did you try to delete the Nights cameo page? You said that lots of characters have cameos, but Sonic, Mario and Link have their own pages as well. Nights has a lot of cameos on many consoles, so most of use believe it should stay. OBEY STARMAN 11:28, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Outside comment on adding personal warnings

A lot of us do it to prevent edit wars. Simply asking people to comment on the talk page about something if they want to remove it is fine, and in no way works to control an article. If someone doesn't say why they removed something, then the person has every right to revert them. BTW, I agree with you on this particular set of cruft. TJ edits in good faith; he just makes mistakes every now and again, as we all do. He does have some control issues, but that is because he has been here for a while, and rarely ever makes a big mistake, so he is used to being proven right eventually. Adding warnings may seem wrong to you, but it has worked for me, him, and others many times in the past to promote discussion rather than edit war, so it will remain in use. Re:Wii points

I was thinking an RfC, especially as current discussion seems to be much more evenly divided than some of the previous ones. I would wait a day or 2 first to see how the discussion pans out before considering starting one though. List of video game collector and special editions

Firstly, I dont believe anyone put any notice of nomination for deletion on the page's talk page because I recently edited this article and saw nothing of a nomination for deletion.

Secondly, I dont understand or see how it could pass it's original nomination with flying colors only to be deleted a year later - possibly because nobody saw it's nomination for deletion?

Thirdly, I want 2 things: access to the last state of the page before deletion as a record of all the work that went into it before deletion, and also to challenge this new decision. How do I do both?

Addressing your specific concerns:

A massive list (was it really that big?)

of games that include "bonus discs" and so on isn't notable for Wikipedia. (Enough people though it was the first time around)

Imagine if there was a DVD list like this: it would be even larger and more cluttered. (imagine if it was a list of all the people in world! irrelevant point - this article was NOT about dvds so dont make that fallacious arguement).

Listing things like this isn't very encyclopedic. Individual articles for the games list the notable special editions already. (WRONG. Far and away in most cases they are not mentioned whatsoever, or if they are there is no information about what distinguished them from the regular release. This was covered in the past)

This is just a listcruft/fancruft of any game that has a second disc, came with something special and so on (notable or not). (any game that had a secondary commercial release of limited production.)

A while back you told us at the Simpsons Wikiproject that The Simpsons Movie article was in pretty bad shape. Well I'd just like to update you on the fact, that it now longer is! After two days of work from Maitch and I, it is now a lot more informative, and the trailer information has been reduced to just one paragraph. Deletion of subpages

RobJ,

In regards to your recent message, I'm not sure I understand your reasons for suggesting I'm keeping articles on my user page as "webhosting". I had originally created the PWI 500 pages to serve as a basis for a wanted articles list for WP:PW and have spent considerable amount of time correcting disambig pages and such as requested by users of that project. Also, like other editors, I believe I do have the right to have articles I've created moved to my user page and especially when I've moved them voluntarily in order to reference these articles when other editors have placed prod tags regarding their notability (instead of contesting them on afd). Most recently, Maryland Championship Wrestling was one of those articles on my user page which I've since restored. MadMax 06:36, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

If you have any ideas on how it could be an article, I am open to them. Besides, it is useful info and took several months to do. I'm not trying to use WP as a webhosting service. Response to edit on The Snuke

Got your message on deleting trivia tag. Was deleted because the article did not at the time contain a "Trivia" section, as the tag implies, and all notes appeared to be organised into coherent reference sections at that point. South Park is a reference-heavy show and all references seemed germane, with no need to be integrated into the article. By the way, sorry if this is userpage vandalism - is this how to message Wikipedians properly? I'm merely an occasional cleaner-up and contributor. Prices

As far as the price guide thing goes, you may just want to restart discussion on the WT:NOT page. I don't really think much progress was being made on the project talk page. Basically all that was determined was that consensus to add them did not exist, but there was also no consensus to remove them. I would suggest Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Policies, either linking to the specific discussion that was already started or starting a new one. I am just doing the same thing you have been doing. You said you wouldn't stop trying to get them removed, so how is it any different if I say I won't stop until they are put back in? Maybe I can phrase my comments better, but I have not done anything worse than you have. Actually, I haven't gone around to every possible page I can demanding for them to be put back in (like you did when you went to WP:VG, WP:AN, etc. demanding for them to be removed).
