Hi, welcome to Wikipedia. Noticed your comment at User talk:Rolinator. Hopefully he will reply, but he hasn't been active for a while. He's a knowledgeable Australian geologist and added a lot of solid content. Unfortunatly he wasn't always to good at providing sources. Anyway I've done a bit of digging - don't know much about Stone Mountain myself. Looking at restite, which he wrote, I see a ref to an article: White, A.J.R., 2001. Water, Restite and Granite Mineralisation, Australian Journal of Earth Sciences, 48, pp 551-555. I don't have access to it, but I'm surmizing that it may have some relevant info - hopefully by comparison of Stone Mtn with the Lachlan granites of SE Australia. The Lachlan's contain S-type granites with similarities to what Rolinator wrote at the Stone Mountain article. My source for that is my copy of Blatt, Harvey and Tracy, Robert J.; 1996, Petrology: Igneous, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic, 2nd ed., p. 185-187, W. H. Freeman, ISBN 0-7167-2438-3 - Blatt doesn't mention Stone Mtn though. Hey, I'm doing some creative speculating here - might be worth a shot.

If any of this pans out let me know and hopefully Rolinator will reply to your questions. Is your book part of the Roadside Geology of ... series? I like those books, have most of 'em. Good luck, Vsmith (talk) 02:08, 17 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
