Hi! I'm the content expert for your class. I reverted your edits to It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time and wanted to give you an explanation as to why.

The first is that the edit did not contain a source that Wikipedia would consider to fall within the reliable source guidelines. The reason for this is that Amazon is seen as an e-commerce site and as such, would not be considered to be a reliable source in this situation. (Occasionally an e-commerce site can be used as a source, but the times this can happen are very specific and relatively rare.)

The second reason is that this would be considered original research since the source itself doesn't explicitly state the claims made in the edits. While what you added wasn't wrong, the issue is that we can only include content that is very explicitly stated in a source. Even if the claim seems obvious, we can't include it without a source where an authority on the topic very clearly and specifically makes that claim - and even then, the source has to be a reliable one.

This is a pretty easy thing to do when getting started on Wikipedia, so don't feel bad - I did the same thing when I first started editing! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:41, 5 July 2017 (UTC)
