Pandemic edit

Dear Rimmer7,

I do appreciate your care to Wikipedia, your eagle eyes, nonetheless I would suggest you to talk to the editor before reverting, it can be offensive. I am a serious researcher and Wikipedia editor, I would not add something that is either Vandalism or Original Research. Please, be more careful before reverting editions of others, Wikipedia is an amazing group work, with power comes great responsibilities. Please, read the reference I have entered, then if you still disagree, we can remove my edition.

Hoping for you comprehension and patience, Best regards, Jorge Pires (talk) 14:20, 9 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Apologies for the vandalism comment. It came across as a joke edit to me due to obesity not being a contagion. While there are many quite lax definitions of the word pandemic, the most comprehensive medical (as opposed to colloquial) definition I have found is WHO's, summed up here[1] as an epidemic occurring worldwide, or over a very wide area, crossing international boundaries and usually affecting a large number of people with the following characteristics:
Able to infect humans,
Able to cause disease in humans,
Able to spread from human to human quite easily.Rimmer7 (talk) 05:06, 10 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Rimmer7 , if fact you are right, I also did after that episode an review in the internet, and they have different definitions. Also, I think the paper I have mentioned used the term in a reckless way. Anyway, no problem at all.
