Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic are preferred by WikiProject Films because they are aggregators of multiple film reviews, so there isn't any bias in using them. Specifically, Rotten Tomatoes got coverage today, so it's a very prominent and oft-cited website. Internet Movie Database is also a staple on film articles because it provides detailed cast and crew information that would be too indiscriminate or crowded on Wikipedia. As for your website, it constitutes a conflict of interest for you to promote it on Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a link farm, so reviews should not be added indiscriminately or when someone happens to write a new one. External links are supposed to be selective in nature, so it's a case of determining, what does your review provide that no one else's does? For example, if the creators of Transformers reviewed the new film, and there was no room in the article for their perspective, links to their very relevant reviews would be provided in the external links. In judging your website's prominence, Google only shows 599 hits with the keywords "hollywood snitch" -site:hollywoodsnitch.com (the latter which excludes your own site), with many of the hits not being very prominent in coverage at all -- some being copies of Wikipedia articles where your reviews existed before their removals. Hence, it's difficult to see how your website is more critical as an external link than any other film review found on the Internet, whether on Rotten Tomatoes or not. Traffic is not supposed to be generated in Wikipedia for a reviewer's prominence. It should be independently established as a go-to reviewer, and the search results do not reflect that prominence yet. I hope you understand that you are not the only small-scale reviewer to have his or her reviews removed from Wikipedia; presenting a different view point is not a valid excuse with Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic making available to all users a multitude of reviews from different perspectives. I would suggest trying to find your niche at Rotten Tomatoes and see if your website's reputation can improve in time. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 18:49, 17 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

External links sections edit

Hi Rilbiz, I see that you've added many links to hollywoodsnitch.com to film articles, but could you please consider not doing that anymore? I don't think that website really falls within our guideline on acceptable external links. Certain websites are considered acceptable in External links sections in film articles — you can see a list here. Wikipedia is not a place to promote websites or attract visitors to a site — that's considered a conflict of interest. I hope you can understand. Thank you. --Pixelface (talk) 00:01, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
