Nashville sit-ins nominated
editI've nominated Nashville sit-ins for the U.S. Southern Collaboration of the Week. If you think it's a worthy topic, stop by and vote for it. Thanks. Kaldari 02:06, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
SWW
editHello Sikon. I am an admin at Star Wars Wiki aka Wookieepedia. I would just like to let you know in on some things. We have set up a basic Vfd system that ensures that fanon crap does not come into the wiki (e.g. Supershadow invented delusions), and we have adjusted our rules for copying (not redirecting mind you) content from Wikipedia to the wiki under the GDFL. As for certain members who would rather think they were "more equal than others", you might be referring to KFanII who pushed his ideas on our users. I have promptly dealt with him. We are coming up on a robust 4000 articles and it is because Wikipedia would never let us expand in the way that we can now. The minorest of minor characters, minor planets, sectors, systems, creatures, etc, etc, all get articles without fear of deletion, which I sought to end. -- Riffsyphon1024 15:17, Jun 24, 2005 (UTC)
- I'd like to briefly add that I still can work on articles here, but they will not be as good as what we can create there due to the limits and rules of Wikipedia. -- Riffsyphon1024 15:19, Jun 24, 2005 (UTC)
- Well, as long as you are GFDL and a sister project, it's okay for me, though I have a problem understanding which encyclopedia should I submit content to. I noticed some articles which are stubs in both, and I don't know for sure whether I should de-stub them in the SWW or in Wikipedia first... - Sikon 16:54, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Contribution to both would be nice. I'm biased of course since I want much more attention towards the Wiki but that is your choice. I gave up adding SW info to Wikipedia due to its restrictions and the constant linking to Planets of Star Wars#some planet, instead of just the planet. -- Riffsyphon1024 23:55, Jun 25, 2005 (UTC)

Vanity
editI'm nominating your user page for deletion on the basis of vanity. Just kidding --Zpb52 June 29, 2005 19:54 (UTC)

Thank you for your submission to the pre-round of Wikipedia:Mind Benders! The voting has now begun, and you are welcome to submit one vote! In addition, why not try round one, which is now open? Round one consists of many challenging (I hope) problems that are lots of WikiFun! Hope to see you there! Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 01:53, 16 July 2005 (UTC)

John-1107
editLooking this over, I see nothing wrong with the recent block of User:The One Terminators (an apparent new account of User:John-1107). User pages are for project-related purposes only. Granted, people tend to tell a little bit about themselves, but that really helps the project by encouraging the social aspect. John-1107 seems to be abusing that resource. Look at his user page from just before it was blanked. Beyond the chaotic look of it, there is also this disturbing passage:
My romantic passionate obsession can become one of my evils of the dark side in which there are many girls who have Stacie's beautiful "whatever it is" that attracts me. Within this evil is my desire to secretly have sex with one girl (without her knowing) so she can give birth to my first child. In addition, when i become a soldier, in times before or after combat operations, i would have sex with preteen or early teenage civilians if they love me and if they want to. In The One Terminators, after i rescued Stacie, i sexually attached her to my body in order for me and her to stay together while escaping from the enemy. In The One Terminators, i had sex with anyone, anytime, even during a battle!
Now come on. Rape fantasies have no place here.
You tell him, if he wants to come back, he needs to pick one single username to work from, and stop adding nonsense to Wikipedia - even to his own user page. He needs to work seriously, or he won't work at all. -- Netoholic @ 05:20, 23 July 2005 (UTC)
Hello, Riffsyphon1024/Archive 2. Thank you for submitting an entry to the pre-round and/or participating in round one of WP:MIND. I sincerly hope you enjoyed it. 2003 UB313 SDO?
editThat's a good question. Technically, Pluto is just another Kuiper belt object, more specifically a plutino. It's only unusually large. Similarly, 2003 UB313 is a SDO even if it would be called planet -- which I greatly doubt; Pluto is called a planet only because it was originally tought to be much bigger and no Kuiper belt was known to exist.--Jyril 10:28, July 30, 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, I'm sure :-)
editJust cause I contribute to bizarre articles doesn't mean I'm a perv! That one time doesn't count! I was nowhere near that club, it must have been my twin! You didn't see anything! Just don't tell my wife! Wait, a sec, I don't have a wife... Or a twin, come to think of it... Heh heh, I guess what I'm really saying is that while I have an open mind and a wide range of experiences, I swear I'm not into everything I've edited articles on. I just have a very strong curiosity about weird stuff. The stuff I am into, on the other hand, well that stuff's so weird there aren't even any articles about them ;-) --Icarus 20:57, 4 August 2005 (UTC)
- Heh. I would however only stumble on something because it was interesting or fascinating, or it actually applied to me.. -- Riffsyphon1024 21:26, August 4, 2005 (UTC)
Wookieepedia
editThanks for the reminder. The bot isn't Star-Wars-specific (I've seen those lists in other areas), but I've been intending to check out the SW Wiki. ~~ N (t/c) 20:01, 8 August 2005 (UTC)
User categorization
editGreetings, Riffsyphon1024! I've noticed that you've already categorized your user page in Category:Wikipedians in Tennessee. Would you consider removing your name from the Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Tennessee page? The categories are replacing the lists and that page will be deleted when all users have been removed. Thanks!!
For more information, please see Wikipedia:User categorisation and Category:Wikipedians by location. -- Roby Wayne Talk • Hist 07:13, 8 September 2005 (UTC)

The Wookieepedian
editHey thanks! Yeah, the SW articles do need much work but, they do at wookieepedia more than here, I think. I hope to be a good wikipedian this time around (I have been so far), if I can just stay out of arguments with A Link to the Past! The Wookieepedian 03:47, 27 September 2005 (UTC)

- Riffsyphon1024, thanks for responding, but please let me know about the book's copyrights. Does author allow anyone for publicizing the material and images? If yes, then it can be considered as fair use. Regards, Shyam (T/C) 22:41, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

editThe tag on this image says that it has been released into the public domain, but the tag says "Permission was given to use his likeness." For this image to be usable, you need to verify that he has released it into the public domain (i.e. copying and pasting his permission where he has explicitly stated something like "I grant this image into the public domain")--Fallout boy 07:45, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
