Michael Leary

edit

Hi Ricky, thanks for your message. The "Full name" field in the infobox should display what the player's full name is (i.e. what is on his birth certificate, if that info is available), so "Michael Antonio Leary" is correct. This has been attributed to The PFA Footballers' Who's Who 2010–11 through the use of a citation. Also, the genealogical website Findmypast.co.uk lists his full name as "Michael Antonio Leary". It is indeed not his commonly used name, but this is made clear to readers through the field's title. But listing his full name as just "Michael Leary" will be misleading to readers as they will assume he doesn't have a middle name, which isn't the case.

On the stats issue - the infobox accounts for appearances and goals in league competitions only, so the figures currently displayed (assuming Soccerbase haven't made any errors) are correct. Both Soccerbase and the official Grimsby site list Leary as having made 48 league apps for Grimsby (32 starts + 16 subs). If any of this needs clarifying please feel free to leave me another message. Cheers, Mattythewhite (talk) 15:41, 10 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
