Dear Wiki &/or OrangeMike,

   Good morning.
I am writing this as an appeal to unblock. I am keenly aware now of why I

was blocked, but due to the limitations of dealing with a dyslexic in cyberspace (me); you may not be. That does not make you wrong. It was my fault for not explaining my disability and that I needed help.

The impression I got, after reading the instructions the best I could was to

write in a neutral tone and give provable links with <ref> next to them.

Though my text is only two lines, it has four links. I can write it without the

links, but not sure how you can verify them otherwise.

   I would love to try this again, under the name Rick London or Londons Times Cartoons;

neither are a company or firm; just my creative project and me.

For some reason it does not absorb when I read the tutorial pages of how to do this

in the way that works best (and serves your readers, which actually is my goal as well). I am happy NOT to include links (but if you need them send them to you separately so that you are able to verify.

I have been doing (what I do) for 14 years; I have a good many references (many online

including Twitter) who has verified my page (if you've ever been through their verification process), you know they make sure it is "you" and that you've done what your site (or you) claim (as efficiently as any site I have seen on the net except perhaps Wiki).

I am a 57 year old disabled man now (but still design and create cartoons). Sadly, I don't

have any .edu or .gov sites for verification. I went to college a millenium ago and my grades were nothing to write home about. I never worked for the government.

But I do have good personal and business references, many of which you've heard, who can

verify the accuracy of my page.

Thank you sincerely for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Rick London ricklondon cablelynx.com

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, please see how to appeal a block.

Assuming your request to be unblocked is successful, the guidelines for notability for a page about you are at Wikipedia:Notability (people). According to these guidelines, an article on yourself in Wikipedia would not be appropriate. Good luck. HairyWombat 00:15, 18 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Dear HairyWombat,

Thank you kindly for taking the time to give me further instructions. The short article I am listing is not about me, but about my work (over the past 14 years).

My instructions were to write in a more neutral tone, and; not about myself.

I am fine on both accounts.

I am not certain how to write (in anything but a neutral manner) that my cartoons, Londons Times Cartoons has been the #1 ranked offbeat cartoon (and offbeat cartoons) on Google since 2005. It is very easily provable. Simply type in "offbeat cartoon" and/or "offbeat cartoons" onto google and you'll see mine "Londons Times" is #1, #2, #3 and saturates most the page. My offbeat cartoon gifts; about 1/4 of a million of them now, (can be verified by www.3drose.com) our main manufacturer have also been #1 ranked since 2005 and, if you type in Londons Times Cartoons you'll see my giftsare carried by Sears, Amazon and numerous other major chains. ref: 3drose@3drose.com You can also see a large inventory of my products on their site; but mostly at associate partners at Amazon and Sears etc. My books are at Barnes & Noble, Amazon.etc.

To see the length of time, Wayback Machine, I'm guessing will have it archived, Google.com surely does; in any case, if the length of time is unprovable (or too timely to prove) it is very simple to see who is ranked #1 now simply by typing it into the search engine.

I have been on my birth city page (just my name) and that I am a cartoonist on Wiki for about 2 years or so.

It is hard to talk about any artistic venture, I know, without sounding like a pr agent or whatever.

The great irony (I love irony too) is that I was only doing it as a hobby while I was back home in rural Ms taking care of an ill parent. It was never meant for public consumption; and, I was able to quit my day job; more irony, my loving parents who I cherished, always told me "Don't quit your day job": and both died right before the cartoons became well-known. C'iest La Vie. My wife strokes my ego now and again for a job well done.

Thanks again in advance for a possible second chance.

Sincerely,

Rick London
