Proposed deletion of Rethink Monthly

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Rethink Monthly, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No outside sources. No assertion or evidence of notability. Apparent conflict of interest.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. --Finngall talk 23:04, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because it has been identified as an account used for promotion of a company or group, with a username that implies that this has been done by that company or group. See Wikipedia:Business' FAQ and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

This kind of activity is considered spamming and is forbidden by Wikipedia policies. In addition, the use of a username like yours violates our username policy.

You may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below or emailing the administrator who blocked you.

Your reason should include your response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy (specifically, understand that accounts are for individuals, not companies or groups, and that your username should reflect this). Usernames that have already been taken are listed here. Blueboy96 23:20, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

WHY WAS I BLOCKED? I'm not sure the nature of this and have followed your guidelines to the best of my ability. I am not promoting or spamming about a company, rather giving insight about a publication in our area. There is another publication similiar to Rethink Monthly called Salem Monthly ... I have added outside sources to the Rethink Monthly page to assure notability... BUT it was deleted before any changes were made. I do not think this is a fair assessment and DISAGREE with it completely. Please contact me regarding this immediately. Thank you.

Decline reason:

For now, given that you've given no assurance that you'd be interested in editing Wikipedia without writing about your company, I'm declining this request. — FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 17:26, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

So far, all of your edits have been about your magazine. Under the conflict of interest guidelines, we all agree to avoid writing about ourselves or our own businesses. Now that you know that you won't be writing about 'Rethink Magazine' under your new username, do you still want a Wikipedia account? What other kinds of edits do you think you'll be making? -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 02:46, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
