Horn of Africa

Hi Mendaliv ive recently posted a request for Admin assistence. the issue involved the defenition of the Horn of Africa. this argument has been going on for a long time, the first time i request help i was told to reach a consensus. i tried this but the other parties were an co -opretaive. so i made a second attempt for assitence. This time however i got no straight answer. An admin recently labelled my post as being resolved. He did this without addressing the actual issue which was about the defenition of the Horn. Ive invested alot of effort and time to go through the proper channels. all am looking for is to resolve an argument about this issue. which should not be very hard.

issue is resolved now. the admin involved has given a clear answer to my case.--Liban80 (talk) 13:13, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

POV check in Old Tupi Language

Hi, recently you've asked for a POV check on the Old Tupi language article; I've recently rewritten that section, so if you could have a look at the new one and remove the banner, if you are satisfied with the rewrite, I'd be thankful. Cheers --Wtrmute (talk) 01:12, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi there, sorry for the delay in response.
I've taken a look at your revision, and I'm pretty pleased. If you don't mind, I'm going to make a few minor tweaks myself to the wording and then remove the banner, since I think there are only a few aspects remaining that are kind of uncomfortable from a NPOV perspective. —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 17:26, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Activity in Wikipedia:Abuse Reports

Hi! While looking through Wikipedia:Abuse reports, I came across an abuse report that had you listed as the investigator (Wikipedia:Abuse_reports/65.51.53.60). I believe that this investigation has been inactive, as the last edit done by you was on November 25, 2008. If you wish to continue this investigation, please feel free to do so. If you do not wish to continue this investigation, feel free to contact me on my user talk page and I can finish it. Thanks! (This is part of my attempt to relaunch Abuse Reports and make it more effective in processing requests) Netalarm 12:34, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Hiya, Netalarm. I'd plum forgotten about AR after all this time. You can take over that case if you'd like. I'd definitely be interested in helping to revive and restructure AR however. I'd only just tried to get involved there and mostly gotten confused. —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 16:13, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Tribes2Screenshot.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Tribes2Screenshot.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:09, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Please update your status with WP:VG

Dear WikiProject Video games member,

You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in recent months.

The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.

All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:

Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

AfD nomination of Casale Media

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Casale Media. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Casale Media (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:13, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

*hem*

Fix this please, you stomped on my comment there. Prodego talk 00:57, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Terribly sorry- that sort of thing tends to happen on high-traffic boards. I've fixed it, though honestly I don't see why you didn't yourself as soon as you saw it; your comment is now kind of buried. As the above banner indicates, I'm not terribly active anymore, and considering ANI, there was a decent chance the thread would be archived before I even saw your post here. —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 04:03, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Would like your advice/help

You may recall that you helped me when I was even more a newbie than I am now. I've started an off-Wikipedia chat site for discussions which cannot legitimately take place at Wikipedia, WikiChat. (The only page currently set up there is Transporter bridge.) Would you consider telling me what you think about it and, though you're semi-retired, whether you might consider becoming an administrator or bureaucrat there, at least until it gets some additional users? TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 17:11, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

I appreciate the invitation, though honestly I don't have nearly as much time as I once did. But, a wee bit of advice; I'm not sure about the practicality of your idea. You may find some opposition to linking to that wiki from Wikipedia talk pages, thus hurting the chances of people going over there when wanting to chat. Furthermore, Wikia explicitly declares itself as not being a sister project of Wikipedia; so you might find some of the folks there don't like it. —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 21:42, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
As always, thanks for your advice. It has proven difficult to find folks like you on WP who will give honest advice in a friendly, non-condescending manner without defaulting towards either IAR-all-the-time or Adminitis. Thanks for being there, enjoy your semi-retirement, and I hope you'll let me pester you again from time to time for your advice. I may not always follow it, but you can be absolutely certain that I value it and give it the strongest consideration. You're one of the Good Guys. Best regards.
