AfD nomination of Sarcastic Gamer

edit

Sarcastic Gamer, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Sarcastic Gamer satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sarcastic Gamer and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Sarcastic Gamer during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 14:20, 17 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Tone

edit

You were asking about what was wrong about the tone of the article on the AfD page. I prefer to answer it here, as it is not directly related to the deletion debate. Parts where I believe the tone is not fully encyclopedic, is for example the long list of names of contributers with their nicknames, and the history of the creation reads a little like 'Adam's epic quest creating his awesome blog'. Hoever, I don't think it's a very major concern. I believe the article is fairly well written, and notable enough for inclusion. It may have some verifiability issues here and there. (for example, the statement "As the site is non-commercial, rarely does the staff take part in gaming events and gatherings." is very hard to source). Regarding the AfD, it could go either way. I'm pretty much neutral on it, I just believe that the article could not be speedily deleted, so I set it up. I hope you stick around, and keep helping ith the encyclopedia! Adoption

edit

Hi i noticed you were seeking adoption, i will gladly try to help you become an experienced wikipedian AFUSCO 22:48, 19 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi there! Thanks for your offer. I'd be glad if you could help me on my way to becoming an Wikipedia administrator ;) You can start with explaining me, why exactly my first article (Sarcastic Gamer) is so hated by some of the admins; linking to the "notability" pages isn't enough, I still can't get it. I did my best for the article to be as unbiased and honest as possible. Thank you once again! Regua (talk) 14:13, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Delta-v

edit

I just split this off from the Delta-v page because it didn't go with the astrodynamic usage and the Wikipedia is not a dictionary.

You claim that Delta-v (physics) is on the Velocity page. Really? Where?WolfKeeper (talk) 18:41, 27 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps it should be there, but it isn't; that being the case I dispute the deletion.WolfKeeper (talk) 18:41, 27 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, the Velocity articles gives the same definitions as you do, just without the formulas. Couldn't you edit the Velocity page and put all the delta-v related things in there? Regua (talk) 19:17, 27 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
