Response to unsigned message left on my User Page

edit

You left this unsigned message on my user page:

== academy of art wiki page ==
Please explain how that section has any relevance to controversies surrounding "rapid growth and acquisition of numerous buildings throughout San
Francisco" explained in the description of that section.

Are you sure you've directing this message at the right person?

I've posted my reason for restoring the content in the article for Academy of Art University. The "Controversies" section mentions newsworthy events that generated public discussion on both sides, whether that discussion involved buildings or rapid growth or disposition of instructors and students or labor relations. Most of these sourced events were referred to the article as they happened from the school's earlier days as Academy of Art College to the present day as Academy of Art University. And...references to all of these events, including an NRLB action, are part of that history and were all included as controvesies. You've removed (again) anything having to do with relations with students and instructors, except for the NRLB action, slanting the article towards issues with procuring buildings to rapidly grow the school. Misleading, to say the least.

So, you're mistaken if you're implying that I'm suggesting that the section should only focus only on relevant controversies surrounding rapid growth of numerous buildings thoroughout San Francisco. The Controversies section was meant to include the whole of the experience and history, not emphasize a specific segment of that history. Please carefully re-read my response as to my action on the article's Talk page, which lays out the rationale.

Implying or suggesting that the school only experienced controversies regarding its growth is less than forthcoming, not to mention misleading regardless of whether one agrees or does not ageee with the position taken by the Academy of Art University. Other editors, including me, have already seen people come along through the past few years to sanitize the article for the sake of the school, which in some cases suggested pointed to a clear conflict of interest (that includes, BTW, students who were extremely dissatisfied with their scholastic experience there). From the neutral point of view, things are what they are, and it's not my position as an editor to suppress or elevate any specific position, event or group of events, or even framing a viewpoint. So, if you disagree or have another view about content related to the subject of the article, it's preferable to present your views on the article's Talk, rather than removing wholesale researched and properly sourced content.
