Speedy deletion nomination of User:Rebekka 201005735

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Rebekka 201005735, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. NTox · talk 18:59, 8 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Rebekka

edit

I'm Peridon, an administrator here. I was very close to blocking you from editing after I deleted your user page. The reason your page has been deleted twice is that it looks exactly like the sort of advertising we are constantly having to delete. If you copied it from an advert, you would also be going against our policy on copyright violation WP:COPYVIO (read it!). As it is, you did go against our policy on advertising, although I am sure you didn't realise it. Please read WP:SPAM, our policy on advertising, and also WP:NPOV which is our policy on Neutral Point Of View - how not to look like an advert. Fortunately, I looked at your contributions and saw an edit on the Polytechnic of Namibia project page. OK - you weren't really trying to advertise something. You looked as if you were, though. Read those policies, and if there's anything you don't understand, please leave a message at the bottom of my talk page. (I'm not guaranteeing that I understand everything on Wikipedia - I don't think any one person does, even Jimmy Wales himself...) If you are trying to create an article, you will also need to read WP:RS (our policy on reliable independent sources). These are essential for articles to survive. Another tip is to start your article in your user space - click this red link and then save the page User:Rebekka 201005735/DRAFT. The name can be changed when things are finished. So long as you avoid sounding like an advertisement (and don't copy something from outside, or make a page saying 'Peridon is a $%$%^$$^^%^$) you should be safe there from the patrollers. Do ask for advice. We do try to help, but you must help too. If something of yours is deleted, don't just put it back. We don't delete things for fun. Ask why it went. And learn from it. OK? Good luck with your coursework. Peridon (talk) 22:09, 8 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
