1) I am new to Wikipedia, but can someone tell me why IMDb is not a valid source for birth names?

2) When someone's page is being vandalized, how do you report and prevent it?

3) Are access dates needed in all references?

4) Why is valid referenced content being deleted when I add it? I thought the point was to add content to enrich the pages, not delete it. RazzSazz (talk) 21:55, 17 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

I was about to comment on your edits to Alia Janine, but I think I can answer your questions (and sort of explain my edits to that article):
  1. IMDb is not considered a reliable source for information, because its information is mostly user-submitted -- see Wikipedia:External_links/Perennial_websites#IMDb and Wikipedia:WikiProject Film/Resources#Questionable resources. Also, information about living people must meet the guidelines of Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons and be reliably sourced, so IMDb is generally out for biographical information.
  2. Vandalism can be reported at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
  3. Access dates aren't required for references, but they're nice to have, in case the web page changes after it's been used as a source.
  4. It depends on if the content is appropriate for an encyclopedia article; adding a reference doesn't guarantee that it will "stick." For example, The New Yorker might mention in passing that some celebrity has 47 freckles on their back, but that doesn't mean it needs to be included here. Thanks for the help, man! I assumed IMDb had to have some sort of paperwork and that's how they got the legal names of actors. You can't remove the legal names from IMDb either, that's why I thought that source would work. I added three other links for Alia Janine's page for her full name. I have also seen that it keeps getting changed because of another performer. I hope you are not one of the people changing it out of spite for Rebecca Bardoux, because that would be messed up. I am just fan, like yourself, but I am not going to change Rebecca's page to start conflicts that do not involve me. Rebecca's page has many mistakes, inflated claims, and poor references. It seems if anyone tries to correct them, Alia gets blamed. I follow both of them on Twitter, it's pretty obvious who the jealous one is. Take a look for yourself. http://twitter.com/thealiajanine Thank you again for your help, I will check out the pages you sent me. RazzSazz (talk) 03:42, 18 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

I have no connection with Alia Janine or Rebecca Bardoux; I was just trying to improve the article to meet Wikipedia standards. Trivialist (talk) 10:26, 18 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ok, cool. I just saw that you had edited both Alia's and Rebecca's articles the same day around the same time. Thanks again for your help, man!RazzSazz (talk) 17:05, 18 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

So, did you actually look at my edits to Alia Janine? They were generally to clean up the article, not for any evil purpose; I'm not sure if you looked at it before reverting my changes. Trivialist (talk) 22:07, 18 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

You appear to be a single-purpose, possibly conflict-of-interest account who is edit-warrinhg at Alia Janine. The Adult Film Database are the Internet Adult Film Database are pertinent and notable (i.e. blue-linked) websites appropriate to the project. Your edit summary "This person is no longer performing in porn and does not need to promote hardcore porn websites when there are multiple mainstream SFW websites" violates the Wikipedia policy of WP:NOTCENSORED. Other issues also apply. Per WP:BRD, once reverted, protocol is to discuss the issue on the article's talk page rather than edit war. If you continue to revert and edit-war, an admin may block you from editing Wikipedia. --Tenebrae (talk) 12:10, 29 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

If and when an admin investigates your disruptive editing, we can document that in addition to edit-warring you are deliberately adding false citations. The cites at your at edit at https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Alia_Janine&diff=prev&oldid=777885166 don't mention a single word about Columbia or honor societies. --Tenebrae (talk) 20:10, 30 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure how much clearer it can be made: None of the cited sources in the education section said one word to support your claims. It's very clear you are either the article subject or someone affiliated with her. Wikipedia is not a promotional vehicle, and editors take it very seriously when people make claims based on false citations. You also gave a false citation for your claim of "11 schools." I apologize if this seems blunt, but the cited source needs to actually says what you claim it does.
You are also WP:OVERCITING and are writing with a promotional WP:TONE.--Tenebrae (talk) 22:39, 3 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
WP:RS/IMDB. It's time to report you for disruptive editing and using false citations. --Tenebrae (talk) 05:07, 4 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
