Understanding typebar-principle machines is the key to investigate the QWERTY stories.

The ”typebar article”'s ballance paying for David's is good, I agree. If affirm or not, David's idea should be explaned. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Raycy (talkcontribs) 05:48, 11 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

typebasket

edit

Some class of typewriter has typebasket.
The type-writing machine which takes the typebar principle[1] , should have typebasket.
The typebasket is the whole set of typebars for a typewriter.

typebar

from typebar talk
Typebar's illustrating picture is not suited to the evidence for David's statements on two points.

This picture is front-strike machine's and staged event 'cause of too much tangles. Jamming typebars' picture should be on up-strike-machine's and during actual operation. It's because this picture should illustrate David's statements. The type-writing machine at prototype era, it should have up-strike mechanism. --Raycy (talk) 17:07, 10 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
David wrote new doc that is David(2000)[2], and I haven't read though. It should be checked because his "jamming problems led to QWERTY" theory was on suspicion for a while.--Raycy (talk) 18:15, 10 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Associate Professor Koichi Yasuoka[3] points out two facts that should be proven ,

  1. The existence of the nuisance of type-bar collisions [4]
  2. Strong regulation between keys' layout and type-bars' arrangement [5]

,during the prototype-machine era.--Raycy (talk) 18:40, 10 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yasuoka also says up-strike machine's type-bar should never been called as 'arm'. I gess it might be called as 'arm'.--Raycy (talk) 18:40, 10 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Path dependence

David said path dependence with showing QWERTY as the evidence.

Early in the QWERTY's borning , there were the results of traveling typebars around on the typebasket , every bar wired or linked to the each key with. Code systems have cultural background.(Motoko & Koichi Yasuoka1999)「コードには文化的背景が投影されている。」(コード体系は文化的背景の反映でもある) Even telephone numbers make the line code culture 。 See , there are some phone numbers seems like for corporations , and so on. And it partially depends on phsical feature of the interfaces and

William Dealey

edit

William Dealey William Dealey(William Learned Dealey) is famous as a co-applicant[2] at 1932 for the patent of so-called "Dvorak simplified keyboard."

His carrier is very related to make the finger movement simplify on the typing keyboard.

William Dealey wrote a report:"Micromotion studies applied to education" with A. A. Douglas at June 1916, in the study, they co-operated with Mrs. Lillian & Mr. Frank Gilbreth.[3]

So, Dealey knew much about the motion and time studies, and the micro-motion principles before 1916. The report draws a bar-chart to show the load at each finger when treating for some work. For this report, they Dealey, Douglas and the Gilbreths tested some studies at some elementary school. And they also supported to some schools at the area concerning, with motion study tools.

In those days, Dvorak tought at some elementary school.

Some source says at 1914, Dvorak and Dealey saw motion study movie of typist by the Gilbreths.

The Gilbreths started to study typing at 1911 or around. And they succeeded to feed Gold medalist of typing at 1916 by their method as stuff couch of Remington Typewriter. So, untill 1914-1916 around, the Gilbreths should accumlate many films of typist typing.

William's sister, Dr. Hermione L. Dealey, married with August Dvorak in 1920.

Why he is notable?

edit

Willam Dealey is one of the inventor, co-inventor of "Dvorak simplified keyboard." Isn't it enough to judge he is notable?--Raycy (talk) 23:57, 11 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Besides the upper, Dealey had an experience to co-operate with the Gilbreths:the expart of motion study, so he might play important role to make simplify the key layout on keyboard.--Raycy (talk) 00:07, 12 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Dealey's sister, Hermione measured in around the brother: William's. We can judge it because when William at the army, she Hermione took a part of the role of William's profession.[4] And she Hermione had been a Doctor before Dvorak became. Dr. Hermione's role is under scope now though, could be not so small.--Raycy (talk) 00:19, 12 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
