edit

Please be mindful of our policies to do with civility and assuming good faith, I do not prefer any site over another due to having friends running them.

I will tell you exactly how I decided upon the links that are there already:

  • All the internal Microsoft sites are directly relevant to the article
  • The EULA site is directly relevant to the content of the article
  • I am not too keen on the MSFN site being there either, so am at 2 minds whether to remove it - I left it to appease those who think it is acceptable
  • The Windows Vista site I am going to remove, as I do not remember seeing it before (maybe I skipped over it).
  • The Paul Thurrott site is not as relevant as I'd like but again, it was left in to appease people who think one or 2 links to these sort of sites is ok. I am going to remove it and see what the reaction is.

Our guidelines state that links should be inserted if they contain content that, in an ideal world, could in the future be written into the article but hasn't yet been done. So, things such as forums, blogs, howto's and the like are not acceptable as links. I am not too sure about 'news' sites but I would prefer only official news sites, so ones ran by Microsoft itself. -Localzuk(talk) 18:49, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
