Jackie d. alarcón and discrimination

edit

Yes, good move towards trying to sort that out. I'm pretty sure that the intention is not just vandalism, or even disruption, but something IS getting lost in translation. HiLo48 (talk) 07:31, 13 August 2011 (UTC). Clear, I will that Compulsory voting is in the category "Discrimination" for forever, like in the french, spanish and portuguese language versions of Wikipedia. That its keept because is certain. I believe that they should be marked to be speedied as A7, because of this policy which says that being of a notable family does not establish notability. Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 07:06, 14 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: Baek Dong-soo

edit

Hello Rabbitfang. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Baek Dong-soo, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A7 does not apply to fictional characters. Thank you. Salvio Let's talk about it! 10:29, 14 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

I have declined your speedy deletion here; designing a major observatory and the official residence of the US Ambassador certainly counts as "significance". Thanks, Ironholds (talk) 07:27, 16 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

This person not in the United State of America is importante but in Europe in Slovenia, this cause for the deletion is it has no sense! Doncsecztalk 07:51, 16 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yes, in the talk page, but will allow the speedy deletion. Doncsecztalk 07:55, 16 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

The English Wikipedia covers the entire world equally--the difference is only in the language it is written in. If a person is notable anywhere, they are notable here. True, in practice there are a disproportionate number of articles on people and things in the English speaking countries, but that is merely doue to the interests of the people who write articles here. Speedies

edit

I have declined your speedy on Members of the Bavarian Maximilian Order for Science and Art. It's a national order of honor at the highest level, so it is notable and so a list of its members appropriate. I note it was translated from the German Wikipedia. There's a presumption that articles on national subjects translated from other Wikipedias are likely to be suitable here also--not always, because the different Wikipedias have somewhat different standards of notability, and because there are some bad articles elsewhere that have not been removed yet.

I notice other admins also are declining many of your speedy deletion nominations. Please stop, right now, and read carefully WP:Deletion policy and [[W{P:CSD]] The conditions for speedy are interpreted narrowly, and if there is any credible claim to importance, speedy A7 is not appropriate. the standard is much less than "notable", deliberately so. DGG ( talk ) 12:57, 16 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

and with respect to proposed deletions, every village and other inhabited place about which there is verifiable information to be found is considered notable enough for a Wikipedia article. If the articles lack references, just tag them as unreferenced. DGG ( talk ) 13:53, 16 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

You Are The Creator of The Anti-Vandalism Ninja Barnstar, Correct?

edit

Several times recently I have noticed vandalism, gone to revert it, and then found that someone else had reverted it during the time I spent typing "rvt vd" in the summary field. This barnstar doesn't seem to be getting much use, but I like the image, and think it would be a fitting reward for editors who "ninja" your anti-vandalism edits. Would you be favorable to the idea of repurposing this barnstar for that use? LWG talk 01:57, 24 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I did create that template. Feel free to repurpose that barnstar for whatever you want. P.S. Sorry for the extremely late response. I have not logged into WP very recently so I didn't see the message about your inquiry. Rabbitfang 16:44, 25 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
