Proposed deletion of Congregation B'nai Jacob, Woodbridge, CT

edit

The article Congregation B'nai Jacob, Woodbridge, CT has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable small congregation, totally unsourced, totally unwikified and un-encyclopedic, with no assertion of notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Orange Mike | Talk 00:39, 4 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Status and Advice

edit

As reviewing administrator, I did not immediately delete the article. But you will need to improve it, buy rewriting it focussed on the things that are historically important, and that people from outside the congregation might want to know if they heard of it, & looked it up in an encyclopedia . Furthermore, & even more important, it reads as if it were copied from a local history or web site, and that is not acceptable. Even if you were able to explicitly license the rights to the material according to our licensing, using the CC-BY-SA and the GNU licenses, as explained in WP:COPYRIGHT and WP:Donating copyrighted materials the material is not in suitable style & coverage for an encyclopedia . (What you could license to us thought, according to the formalities given above, is a photograph of the building.) I advise you to fix up the article very quickly, before the article gets nominated for deletion by a regular deletion process. DGG ( talk ) 00:56, 7 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
