Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. [1] MrOllie (talk) 16:45, 4 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

R blenko (talk) 17:17, 4 August 2011 (UTC) i am merely quoting information about WV birthday pieces which I believe belong in blenko glass company page, given their historic significance, and value to collectors. If you can find other link that has as much information as the link i posted, please feel free to change my link with that. If not, please be reasonable and not mess around. Only other link close to this is http://www.blenkocollectors.com/blenkocollwestvirginiapieces.htm but it does not have any history. just a bunch of pics. Also, as Wikipedia's external links do not alter search engine rankings its inaccurate to call this spam. — Preceding unsigned comment added by R blenko (talkcontribs) Reply

Please consult our guidelines on sourcing. That site does not meet them, so it should not be used as a source. Another account was also attempting to promote links to the blenko project on the article very recently, so the timing of your addition raises additional concerns. Please do not readd the link again. - MrOllie (talk) 18:31, 4 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

R blenko (talk) 19:23, 4 August 2011 (UTC) MR OLLIE. please get your facts right. blenko project is not a spam site. its a registered non-profit. as i said before, you are free to use any other link, that is atleast as complete as the link i posted. please stop bullying.Reply

R blenko (talk) 19:27, 4 August 2011 (UTC) ALSO THEY DO NOT SELL GLASS. THEY DOCUMENT COLLECTIONS OF VARIOUS ARCHITECTS AND VARIOUS COLLECTIONS. — Preceding unsigned comment added by R blenko (talkcontribs) Reply

Non profit status is not relevant to the linking guidelines. All that matters is that is that single purpose accounts are edit warring to keep it in the article. That makes it spam, and if it continues the link may be placed on the blacklist. RE: 'free to use any other link' The onus is not on me to find a proper source for your content. If you want it kept, you need to find a source. I would suggest starting with local newspaper archives. - MrOllie (talk) 19:29, 4 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

R blenko (talk) 19:34, 4 August 2011 (UTC) please stop making threats and bullying here. none of the local paper archives are as complete.Reply

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Blenko Glass Company. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. TeapotgeorgeTalk 19:35, 4 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

R blenko (talk) thank you. you are the first sensible person I met here. I have been collecting blenko for several years, and it hurts me to see that the company is shutting down. i wish to preserve as much of this heritage as possible. thanks again.
