Yeah, I mean Pfizer and GSK both said they'd get me my cheques by last Tuesday. RA0808 talkcontribs 18:56, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

A cup of tea for you!

For keeping your cool under vandalism :)..and thanks for the Userpage-Shield (never had one of those before). Anyway, being an admin makes it kind of easy to deal with vandalism. Cheers. Lectonar (talk) 07:35, 10 July 2012 (UTC)

"Re: Hospital gown"

Why is it that I cannot discuss the Robe to Wellness project on the Hospital Gowns page but the Cynthia Rowley project is allowed? I am not Toby Israel doing self-promotion. It is an actual and real project and is making a difference to the way hospital robes are conceived. People are really wearing these in hospitals and are part of the projects in their creation. I added more references that provide multiple sources to confirm that I am speaking factually. I think it is relevant to discuss new robes being designed to help women feel more comfortable and dignified during treatment. It's not just about fashion, it's about the psychology behind feeling comfortable and dignified in order to aid recovery.

Because the Cynthia Rowley's project doesn't sound like an advertisement. If you adopt a more neutral and encyclopedic tone, and maybe even add it after the Cynthia Rowley paragraph in the same section, then I think it will make a great addition to the article. Regards, RA0808 talkcontribs 19:20, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Now I've edited it twice and it has been continued to be removed. I am not advertising the product, I am explaining the principle behind the robes. How am I supposed to explain the project without someone saying it's like an advertisement? I have not stated any personal opinions. I state what the robes are. I explain that they are a part of patient-centered care. I think it's difficult to argue that this is more promotional then that of Cynthia Rowley. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peopleswiki (talkcontribs) 23:09, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

If I may jump in... the question is, is knowing this important to understanding what a 'hospital gown' is? It would help if, when you start a discussion on the talk page, you could share some sources that discuss the importance of this project. Sources other than the product's own web page. Maybe a medical journal article about the significance of this project? Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and I'm not seeing why I would expect to see this in an encyclopedia. I'm not really sure why the Rowley project is there, either, unless it's part of a broader discussion of privacy issues related to hospital gowns. If you want to remove it, I personally wouldn't have a problem with that, but given the situation, you should probably seek some consensus on the talk page first. If you see material that doesn't belong an an encyclopedia article, the thing to do is to try to fix it- not to add more material that doesn't belong. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 23:15, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the feedback. I would argue that it is relevant to the page because it is a type of hospital gown that has not otherwise been discussed. It is not like the mass produced cotton styled, tie at the back, nor is it a disposable gown. It is a different type of gown because it has a patient-centered design- by and for patients. That is different from what else has been described. I also cited WZBN News, who I'm sure are independent from the designer. I think if the two sentences I included on the Robes to Wellness are considered advertisement then so too is Cynthia Rowley and Tam Nguyen. However, I think all three designers have contributed to a diversity of hospital gowns and there shouldn't any reason why somebody researching hospital gowns should be closed off from knowing about this. Re: Norfolk,_Virginia

Hi, you considered this link: *"Photographs of Norfolk, Virginia". WorldFlicks. {{cite web}}: Cite has empty unknown parameter: |1= (help); External link in |publisher= (help) as spam. I consider it as a good extra source for getting to see more images of this area. Of course, I know all external links on wikipedia are nofollow, so it doesnt make sense to add links for getting higher in google or so.... perhaps the second link to the overall worldflicks page is a bit overdone. So, in the end, I guess it's a matter of taste? RonaldWF (talk) 19:46, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Could you please react on my statement? RonaldWF (talk) 11:06, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

Your edits were reverted because it appears you are a user of, or otherwise affiliated with, WorldFlicks and are promoting the website (via linking) on any Wikipedia page purely because there are pictures of said town/city. You were notified that you were going against the external links guidelines by another editor back in 2007 about this same issue. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for promotion, even via linking to an otherwise non-notable website. RA0808 talkcontribs 00:23, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
ok, that's clear to me. Still editors (not affiliated at all to me) put links to worldflicks pages in articles. I guess it can be helpfull to add links in articles where I think it's an extra (because the article doesnt have photos that describe the article). I did not put random links, but selected pages. It wouldnt be difficult to put 100.000 links with a simple bot, that would be spamming. I am an image-person (dont know the English phrase for this, but I guess you understand what I mean ;-) ), so I like to see images of a place connected to the text. That's why I started these worldflicks pages long time ago ;-). What would be a propriate way to make links appear in articles? Propose it in talk pages of articles? RonaldWF (talk) 07:48, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
If you still believe the links are appropriate, then yes please discuss on the talk page. Please note that as the creator of the WorldFlicks website you are subject to conflict of interest rules especially those regarding self-promotion. I would advise you to consult those rules first before you attempt to add the links again. RA0808 talkcontribs 22:28, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

Dear Author/RA0808

My name is Nuša Farič and I am a Health Psychology MSc student at the University College London (UCL). I am currently running a quantitative study entitled Who edits health-related Wikipedia pages and why? I am interested in the editorial experience of people who edit health-related Wikipedia pages. I am interested to learn more about the authors of health-related pages on Wikipedia and what motivations they have for doing so. I am currently contacting the authors of randomly selected articles and I noticed that someone at this address edited an article on Rectal Examination. I would like to ask you a few questions about you and your experience of editing the above mentioned article and or other health-related articles. If you would like more information about the project, please visit my user page (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Hydra_Rain) and if interested, please reply via my talk page or e-mail me on nusa.faric.11@ucl.ac.uk. Also, others interested in the study may contact me! If I do not hear back from you I will not contact this account again. Thank you very much in advance. Hydra Rain (talk) 19:09, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
