Public Safety

edit

Only two murders occur in Quebec City in 2015. Major safety violence is related to private vehicles thief, street gang activity and street crime organizations. As a response to it, gang activity has been recognized to be a federal crime in Bill C-394. The general road and public transportation systems of Quebec City are in good condition. People have multiple choices of public transportation, such as ferry, shuttle and public bus. Taxi service is available via call 24 hours a day, which provides reliable safety support to travelers at any time. Most roads are cleaned on time after snowstorms. However, people still need to pay close attentions during driving especially in winter days. Blizzards and black ice happen very often in extreme snowstorms conditions. It is also suggested to park in well lit area and not leave valuable properties in cars. Cyber security is a major safety problem that threatens both the national and private information privacy and financial credentials. According to security company Websense in 2012, with regard to the amount of mischievous web pages, Canada ranked the second in the world. Cyber attack becomes a huge potential threat to 60% of the Canadian businesses, which do not have any computer protection plans.
