August 2013 edit

Hello, I'm Trut-h-urts man. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to The Last of Us because it appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. I am new to this so I don't even know if I am doing this right. I fail to understand how what I edited is promotional. what I edited is in line with what is already there. The only thing different is that PressX2Start is not as big as ign or gamespot. If you could can you please explain. Also could you explain how I can do it so that it is not promotional. what I was trying to get at is even the small guy said that The Last of Us is a great game. most people know that the big review places are going to say a big game is going to be good ( COD, Battlefield, ect) The Guys at PressX2Start are real gamers that do don't get paid for their reviews or info. Yes they are small but they are real and do their site for the fun of it and I believe people should Know that with the big guys that the little guy loves this game so it must be good. if this is because of my user name as I said im new at this and made a mistake with that and would like to correct it if all possible.Px2s (talk) 06:09, 13 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.  You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. Daniel Case (talk) 21:09, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yes I do understand all three of those but at the sametime what I asked above has not need addressed. The user name I would like to change to is one that I have been using for years. I would also like some feedback on what I asked above. I also do not see how I tried to use Wikipedia as a business directory as for what I edited was right in line with what was there. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong but once again I would like an explanation on what the differents seems to be like I asked above.75.144.98.27 (talk) 22:56, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hi. Your edits were purely promotional, if you fail to understand why you really shouldn't contribute to Wikipedia at all! Bjelleklang - talk 21:03, 17 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Now a fourth admin chimes in with out a word from the others and no explanation from them. As a said before if I was wrong then I was wrong just would like to know the differents. Now with this new admin I see the rudeness here and the lack of second chances. Can't even get a username change because of one edit that I never complained about or distributed. Only asking for a name change and some better info so it does not happen again. But I can see that's like asking for the world. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.155.146.108 (talk) 06:49, 18 August 2013 (UTC) Almost forgot. The funny thing about this whole thing is I was blocked because of my username not my edit. Now Bjelleklang denies my request for username change and to be unblocked because of my edit. Make any sense? Makes me wonder if any of the admins read any of this. It also makes you ask do you have to many chiefs here and not enough IndiansReply

Sorry about that, I read the first warning and checked your edits and mistook you for also being blocked for promoting a site. I have reverted myself and will leave it up for another admin to decide. Bjelleklang - talk 08:52, 18 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Apology excepted

I am perfectly happy to unblock on the basis of this thread, but could you please confirm that the unblock request above, which was added under an IP address, does in fact come from you. Even while blocked you can log in and edit on this page. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 20:26, 24 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yes it was me. Sorry I was more then likely at the hospital when I made the request when I was at the hospital because I have been spending a lot of time there because of family matters.Px2s (talk) 03:28, 10 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
