Preparing Your Wikipedia Expansion

edit

All of the learning theorists that we study in this course are represented in Wikipedia by a Main Article. These articles typically talk about the career, contributions, publications, and other details of importance regarding this theorist. Your assignment in this course is to expand the main article about the theorist, not the theory, with a subsection addressing the application of the theorists works to education. You are going to add a new subsection titled TheoristName On Education. This subsection is not a comprehensive explanation, but must illuminate at least one application of the theory in schools. For example, Bandura is a Social Learning Theorist, how would we apply social learning theory in the classroom? What evidence-based practice(s) can you cite that is an application of at least one primary principle of your theorist's work. In your research, you will not always find articles that explicitly say this classroom practice is based upon Bandura. You will need to do the scholarly work of connecting the theory to the practice.

You will work on your Sandbox page to draft your expansion. Your classmates will help to edit your work. When you believe that you have a review ready page, ask for peer reviews. Clearly, your peers will not know if your content is correct, but they can edit your compliance with Wikipedia standards, writing, and citing issues. When your peers have reviewed your work, and you are ready to move to the main space, ask me to review your work. I will review your work and give you express permission to move your work from your Sandbox to the Main Space if it meets the standards prescribed in the Wikipedia guidelines and basic writing standards.
